Leave a bone for Zack (as in Pro-Zack)

Nicknames:
Big Z, Zacky-Patacky, Zack-a-doo, Zacks

Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog

Likes:
His owner, Eric, in a BIG way. Loves belly rubs, climbing in a lap, FOOD, walks, playing with new bro Farley.

Pet-Peeves:
Chipmunks, squirrels, being picked up, not being allowed on the couch.

Favorite Toy:
The only thing he will reliably play with is Farley.

Favorite Food:
Marrow bones are prefered. ANYTHING else is acceptable.

Favorite Walk:
Any wooded, tick-filled area is great with Zack. He also loves the beach.

Best Tricks:
"Sing" (sustained howls on command) "Squish the puppy" (pins Farley with paw) "Get the sock" (fetches thrown sock--weird) "sit" "stay" "down" "leave it" and if you say "Get the squirrel/chipmunk--or, "what is it" he exploadeds with noisy excitement.

Arrival Story:
Zack was a abandoned/abused dog that I took in. He had a serious confidence problem and a submissive urinator. I had a rough year or so with him but I did manage to train him pretty well. He's now terrifically well-behaved and calm. Training him to speak/sing was really rewarding because when I got him he was afraid to bark at all. He attached himself pretty strongly to my boyfriend Eric who would stay with us every weekend and on summer breaks from Vet school. He started getting really depressed when Eric wasn't around and so now he lives with Eric at vet school and still comes and lives with us on weekends, summers and holidays.

Bio:
Zack wouldn't play with anyone, or anything. Occasionally we could get him to run wildly around the yard if we got him excited enough. But he wouldn't play at all until I got Farley, my Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy. For two weekends in a row he was really annoyed by the puppy. But I guess he thought it over because the next weekend he was down he became a different dog, playing like crazy with the pup. Everyone who's ever known him is shocked! We sometimes tell people who ask what kind of dog he is that he's a "Suess Love-hound" because he is such a lover and because he has tufted feet like all of Dr. Suess' characters are drawn. You'd be surprised how many people thought that was an actual breed!
