Obedience Training, again????

Ok, so if you will notice, I GRADUATED from training already in 2005 and now I am going to training again? Am I not great enough already??? If they keep training me like this, someone is going to come steal me because I am going to be SOOOO great that everyone will want me. Then they will be sorry....

The Scary Dark Place

This weekend, my Daddy was getting the trash ready to be taken outside so he was in the kitchen. He had this cabinet door open in what Mommy calls the island (sure doesn't look anything like those islands they show on TV). Anyway, I decided it was high time for me to check this island thing out so I crawled inside. Next thing I know, my Daddy had put the trash can back in the island and before I could so much as take a step he had shut the door with me still inside!!!! I was inside for what seemed like an hour (Mom said it was only about 5 minutes) and I heard Mommy calling me. "YEAH" I thought, "I have been rescued!" But then the calling got further away. Soon, I heard her go ask my Daddy if he had seen me. He told her no so he started helping her look for me. FINALLY, Daddy opened the door to the island and out I came! I was SOOOO relieved that I had been found! Mommy came running in the room and was loving on me and petting me. I was so happy until she asked me why I didn't cry or bark when I heard them calling my name. Geez! I wish I had thought of that!!!

Obedience Class - August 24, 2005

My Mommy enrolled me in PetSmart obedience classes because she said that it was high time for me to learn some manners. This was the first time that I have ever been in PetSmart (Mommy was scared I would embarass her around all those other dogs and their parents). Mommy said that I did very well. I was sure excited to see those dogs but I didn't bark as much as Mom thought. One thing is for sure, school is a lot of hard work. We have homework and Mommy makes sure that I practice everyday! Mom says that I am the cutest one in the class. She is so embarassing sometimes....

So far, I have been to 3 weeks of the class and I have learned sit, down, watch me, take it, leave it, and a bunch more. In fact, last week I won a toy in the fastest sit contest. Mom and Dad were so proud! I was actually pretty proud of myself too.

I have also found a boyfriend. His name is Oscar and he is a 4 month old black lab. The first time that I saw him, I had happy pee, and ever since, I can't keep my eyes off him. Mom says that I am fixed so I shouldn't be interested in him (whatever that means!) I don't care what she says, I like him a lot!

My First Field Trip

May 30, 2005 - Today my Mommy and Daddy took me on my first field trip ever! Wow was it fun! We went down to the Riverwalk which is a neat place that has a LONG walking/biking trail along the Chattahochee River. I saw these people on these strange things that Mommy called "bikes". They looked a little suspicious to me so I barked at EVERY SINGLE one that passed us just let them know that they weren't going to mess with me! Once while Daddy was walking me, he accidentally dropped my leash and off I ran after some people riding their bikes! I finally heard my Mommy calling me to come back (although I think she may have been calling me awhile cause she was awful red in the face) and I ran back to her so I didn't get in trouble. Boy was Mom glad to see me! I heard her tell my Daddy that he had lost the "leash holding" privleges for awhile. Boy are my parents weird..... Anyway, I was so worn out after we left that I slept the whole way home. After we got home, I tried to play but I was still so tired that I climbed up in my Mommy's lap and took a LONG nap. What a great first Memorial Day!
