When I'm gone...
No need to wonder if I ever think of you..
The same moon shines..
The same wind blows
And time is but a paper moon
Be not gone..
Hear my song and think of me
The way you've come to think of me
The nights grow long
But dreams live on
Just close your pretty eyes
And you can be with me
Dream on....
Let us cling together as the years go by..
Oh my life my love
In the quiet of the night
Let our candle always burn
Let us never lose the lessons we have learned....

Boy, I've had several good weeks without pain after my right eye was removed..I was so contented and relaxed, I slept every night with my paws pointed toward the ceiling fan. Peoples stared at first and wanted to know what happened. I guess it was a bit unsightly, the swelling and all. Now, Mimi, being the optimist she is, thinx I looks so coot with one eye in a "permanent blink". but Little Bit's boss ma'am came up with a cooter name...The Permanent Wink. We all said...oh, yeah, spiffy groovey cool...much cooter.
But...now my left eye is giving me trouble and it will probably have to GO within the month. I'm back on the Rimadyl until then. Goody-bye and owdeos, I can't wait to be permanently matched. Mimi sez I'll have an oriental look....
One more thingy...thanx everyone fer yor emails, pawmails, bones, Rosettes and Pup-Pal requests....Prayers were and are a BIGGY!
I'll keep you posted...Peachy^-~^

Many of you already know I had my right eye removed yesterday because of a mammoth infection development over the last 2 weeks. Another one of them deals that comes in the Diabetes Package. Before the Dr's verdict, Mimi shouted a big
DO IT NOW! "No tears and no hearts breakin".....She KNOWS the pain.
But we sure did welcome all those prayers for her biggest worry was the possible destabilization of my blood sugar during the surgery. Now THAT can get you The Bridge Award! Even though my Doc is an expert cuz he's a diabetic himself, things can still happen. Your Prayers Worked!
So here I is and there you am....I'm eatin big time...going outside big time...The old gal is having a time trying to keep me out of the weeds and dirt. Some peoples stare at me and give Mimi "the evil eye" like there's some kind of abuse going on here. "Not the eye...don't look at that! It's those deadgum pointy things she stabs me with twice a day...Now THAT's ABUSE!"
I couldn't have done so well without ALL OF YOU and your wonderful prayers,
Peachy

Good News Everyones! Today my specialty vet cleared me and sez I don't have glucoma and uvietis. So I don't have to have my eyes removed! Yea! The bad news is I have to take them deadgum insulin shots and he upped my dose to 6U twice a day.
Ya know, I don't mind not having no sight cuz Blind Dogs See Wif Their Hearts! AND we gets extra special attention, lots of touching and holding and hugging and gentle talk. My foodies is even better 'n before too. I gets lots of Jack Mackeral, punkins,
Jr. baby foods, scrambled eggs, shopped livers & gizzard, yoguts, college cheese mixed wif my kibble. CandyLoo's kinda ticked cuz Mimi's havin' to cuts her portions back. She's lookin like a punkin lately. A regular old tubbalard. Ooops, shouldn't critisize my seeing eyes whens I goes outside.
So I wants to thanx all my special friends who have prayed for me...Prayers Works!...there's Pokie, Little Bit & Lyle, Portia, Zachary, Sweeta Rosalita, Savanna, Skye, Basil, Xena Princess Warrior, Wille, Googster, Ojo, Ticker, Otto and the angel dogsters who guard over me Snappy, Pharoah, Mighty Mouse, Impy, Bubba, Butchie and our J.J., Nillikins and Meggy. So many friends I have sometimes my memory gets a bit off, But Mimi will track you down.
We also want to thank all the other petster lovers at:

Thanks Portos and Mom for making LBs these spiffy looking snag tags. We're closing in on Turkey Day and I hope you will stop by Candy's place and offer a special prayer for all senior and special needs shelter pets. November is "Adopt A Senior Shelter Pet" month. They really need our prayers.
~Thursday.will close with our candles lit all over for our ailing Dogster friends and others we know I know you won't forget to pray for Bella Bean's Abby, Duke, Pesca Brandi, and Snappy and Ojo. Remember the ones who mourn for Wicket and Corona. Prayers are working for our LittleBit back home from today's Dr. visit armed with a new weapon and renewed strenth. So this one's for you, O Mighty Friend!

~There's power in them prayers and looks like all my Dogster pals have prayed me out of the badlands of blindness. How 'bout that? Yup, I'm navigatin' real well these days all over my ponderosa. ..if I run into a firewall...oops! slight bump...back up... and nose on through to the righteous way. Candy's my cheerleader and seeing-eye doggy. Mimi lets me sit on her lap more....she sez I'm her "official 'puter-pet" However, the emphasis on blind jokes and cutesy labels around here is wearing a bit thin. I mean, how would you like to be referred to as My Little Roomba?! Do I look like a robot vacuum cleaner??!!
~Well, anyway, my REAL friends don't call me names. Tank you Rosie, Little Bit & Lyle, Skye, Pokie, Willie, Googie(Dapple-D), Xena, Basil, Sammy, Snappy & Ojo, Gonzo, Portia, Poncho, Bowie and BridgePals, Mighty Mouse, Impy, Butchie, Bubba, Pharoah, and Charlie, all my new Pup-Pals and many other thoughtful dogsters who don't know me that well, AND, my Dogster buds here in town, Sassy, Rudy, Tinkerbell and Dorothy. All of your prayers, emails, rosettes, well wishes and acts of kindness have seen me to this better day. If your name was overlooked, don't worry, Mimi will find you out and make a big deal of it later. " Friends Are Forever..." TBC tomorrow Nov 22.
Your Ever-Lovin,
~Peachy~

My news is not so good today and I'm a little sad. We were so happy that my blood sugars had stabilized since my diabetes was diagnosed in June. The first month was kind of up and down adjusting my insulin doses and finding the right foods that would help me gain a little weight. Since then, everything seemed to fall in place in spite of a few worrisome days and I started to feel better. The only thing Mimi worried about was the cataracts on my eyes, but I got around OK. Then, 2 days ago Somebody Turned Off The Lights and I can't see anymore. It would've been a simple surgery dealing with just the cataracts, but now my sight has been taken by diabetic retinopathy. My Dr. delivered the bad news today. Mimi knew this might be an expected complication. Still, we are all very sad about this. Last night I just sat down in the middle of the kitchen floor for a long time, feeling confused and bewildered about this darkness. Today, we are grateful this is not the end of my world or a condition that causes little doggies to go to Rainbow Bridge. CandyO, my "sister" watches after me when I go outside in the back yard and she makes sure I get around the house OK, to my lounge and into Mimi's bed at night. She doesn't even try to steal my food anymore. Can you believe it? Good old CandyLoo! I'll never call her selfish or self-centered again
Mimi sez we are still very lucky because there are a bunch of our Dogster friends
with cancer and other bad things plus many little pets with no one to take care of them. We should say our most special prayers from them. Love~Peaches~

OOOO tank you, Bouncer's Dapple Dandy, Basil and Skye for my Rosettes. I never expected to be honored like this. And tank you everyone for your prayers and concern about my diabetic lifestyle these days. Wheww, I still hate them need-les so that Mimi has to practically sneak up on me so I can't run away. Then I get ashamed because several of my pals are having to put up with much more than a couple of needle-sticks a day.
We are praying for our bravest and goodest Little Bit and her family and her doctors. And also the little doggy who got burned last week. Mimi preaches to us daily about how blessed we are because there are so many who don't have families or food or shelter. She sez just about all doggies here are well-loved and well-cared for. But there are two little dogsters on this site who best represent the desperate plight of the abused and imprisoned, God bless their precious souls. If you have a moment please read
Max-in loving memory How clearly one can see the exaggerated snowy appearance around Max's eyes speak of a broken heart and a spirit so brutalized it could leap out of the body into the arms of the nearest angel headed for Rainbow Bridge.
Susie-In Loving Memory The same 100 year-old-look, big sad eyes as if still looking through the wires of her cage, who got to experience briefly human kindness, the feeling of grass on her paws and barking at birds in flight before she passed away in January. Note she had to wear a sweater to protect her scarred back.
Mimi's not in the pulpit all the time, we've never seen her giggle and have so much fun as she does on Dogster. We think she's laughing at us..well, we are quite clever and cute. he he he he

MiMi was right! My blood glucose levels are within normal limits and it seems my condition is under control with 6 Units of Humulin N twice a day.
Ouch! I still don't like to get stuck, but I guess it's worth it to get all this extra attention and a Liva-Snap treat. I think Candy is jealous, but Mimi gives her extra attention, same as me. Sometimes our vets don't have all the answers about diabetes and pets. So if your little friends have this problem, try to work WITH your vet as a team. ...And there are special websites for our Momsters and Popsters like:
http://www.petdiabetes.org
http://www.caninediabetes.org
Remember, little dogsters and catsters can live a good long life with our "disease".
Thanx for all your prayers and concern for me,
Love, Peachy
