At the park.

Friday we took Dixie's ashes to Wildwood Park. This was her favorite park. Trixie joined us for our last farewell. I hope she will love the park as much as Dixie. Wildwood will never be the same, especially the beautiful area around the creek. We miss her so!

The hardest day

Dixie couldn't fight off her infection. Her red blood cell count dropped last night and we had to make the hardest decision ever. She is in doggie heaven now chasing squirrels and playing with water hoses. Dixie will be missed by all who knew her. This house is not the same without her. What a great dog! Smart, Loving & beautiful. Good night Dixie.

Poor Dixie

Dixie was chasing a squirrel yesterday and her legs fell out from underneath her. We were checking her out and noticed her gums were all white. She had been weak for a day or two but we thought she was stressed out from the 4th of July festivities.

If you ever notice white gums on your pet go to the vet immediately! Dixie has Immune Medated Hemolytic Anemia. Her immune system is killing off her red blood cells. She is on medication which hopefully does the trick. If not, she may need a blood transfusion.

Please say a prayer for Dixie. She is such a sweetie and is part of our family.
