New Sister

I have been having too much fun to write for awhile but I got a new sister just before last Thanksgiving. I didn't like it at first. I had to share my humans with another dog. But Zelda is the best. She kisses me (sometimes too much). And she protects me from things I don't like. And we make a great team with the humans and any dog who is doing stuff we don't like. It's pretty great to have a little sister. Even one who is such a fearless nutball.

My New Bed

I came to live in my new home last January. For two weeks, my safe place was the dog bed in the rec room. I was not sure what kind of place or what kind of people I was living in. And I spent over a year in a small rural shelter without much human contact. The bed had the smell of another dog on it. I never saw the dog.

I liked the bed but it was not quite big enough and not that soft.

My peeps came home with a new bed. It's big and lots of cushioning. It has a fleecy top and smells like cedar. I love it. It's mine and no one else's. I get to loll on it and it makes me happy.

Nick tried to share my bed and I growled just a little to make it clear that I am not sharing my new bed. It's mine.

I also let all my human friends know that I love my new bed whenever they come to visit. I jump on it and smile.

Danger in the back yard....

Last night, I was going out back before bed time like usual but I got a nasty surprise.... There were a couple of raccoons in the pond. Normally, if there is one I just chase it over the fence and claim my territory but last night, there were a couple of them and they wanted to fight back. And they got me wet. Ew, ew, ew, slimy pond water in my face. I tried to fight and decided it was better to just run back into the house. Mom had to get the baseball bat and turn on all the lights out back and reclaim the place. I still would not go out unless Mom was right next to me. The backyard is o.k. now but I have to stay away from that pond.
