Wow, Almost a year old!

Mommy can hardly believe I'm almost a year old already. What a fun year it's been.

It'll be even more fun when it gets warmer outside and we can go on more walks and play outside more. Mom is not a cold weather person so I sometimes have to fend for myself playing in the back yard... she braves it sometimes and comes out and throws my tire for me, but she gets cold quick. I'm definitely a little stir crazy and can't wait for the warmer weather!

I'm also getting to be a snotty teenager. I spend a lot of time grumping and whining for no apparent reason, and it drives mom and dad CRAZY sometimes. They've already done everything that I need and played with me etc, and still I grumble and whine. I'm quite the vocal one in that way. I guess that's better than barking constantly but JEEZ.

My birfday is February 9th, so mom was thinking of having some kind of little party for me. Dad probably thinks she's being ridiculous, but I would like that idea because of all the ATTENTION I'll get! Woohoo!

My mom is slacking

I'm almost 9 months old now!

I'm doing well, although I've started shedding like no tomorrow. Mom is tempted to buy that "Furminator" thing she's seen on TV.

I am doing awesome in my class. I really surprised my teacher last week. She keeps forgetting that I'm only 9 months old. I am learning some agility stuff, and I love zooming through the tunnel! In fact, I zoom through it when I'm supposed to be going over a jump. I also love jumping up on the table because there are always toys and stuff up there and sometimes I get a tasty piece of tripe for going up there.

Well, Daddy is whining about something so mommy has to go again. Lix!

Happy 7 months to me

Today's my 7 month birfday! Mom hasn't given me anything too special today because I had the runs last night again and kept her up all night. I guess my belly is just not able to handle some treats.

So I have a boyfriend on dogster now, Belgian PM'ed me and asked me to be his girlfriend! I was shocked but we're giving it a try. He's much older than me but he still seems to know how to have a good time.

I've been sleeping a lot today, Mom thinks that's b/c I was up barking to go out last night. She feels bad when this happens because the houses are so close together and she figures I probably wake up the neighborhood. She got up right away when she heard me, but she doesn't know how long I was at it before that. Oh well.

Mom has a cold today so we haven't done as much playing as usual, but we did go on a long walk this afternoon and boy was it hot outside.

Well, back to napping for me.

All mixed up

Mom thinks I have my days mixed up with my nights lately. Sometimes dad stays up late and I will stay up with him or sleep on the floor near him. Also sometimes mom falls asleep while watching TV with me and we don't go on our last walk till 2am... So just lately when I've gone back to a normal bedtime schedule, I bark for the first 30 minutes or so in the crate.
Then, I try to sleep all day and mom and dad try to keep me awake and moving around. I'm not all about that.

I had a bath today, and mom used the blowdryer a little, and I didn't like that. So, I got a frostypaws afterward and mom took pictures www.kiwiskorner.com/Photos/Frostypaws

Hmmmm what else has been going on...

I went to Grandma's yesterday and ran around in her yard a lot. They have a tree that makes these little apples and I kept running away with them and eating them. I haven't gotten sick so mom thinks they were probably ok.

Mom's also talking about taking me up to the woods again next month, so I can sniff around and go on the boat again and maybe even go in the lake if I can work up the guts. Maybe if mom is out there I will have to swim out to make sure she's ok.... her uncle thinks maybe she could fool me into swimming like that.

*yawn*

I'm dog-tired today.

I think it's b/c I'm actually comfortable temperature-wise today. Yesterday even though it was cool outside, leaving the windows open wasn't quite enough for me, so today mom turned the air conditioner back on.

Mom bought a bunch more plants for the garden outside today... she forgot to take the toxic plant list with her again, but this time she did OK picking things out because she checked when she got home and all the plants were OK!

The birdies have taken to our feeder, too... so once the grass is repaired, I'll have some feathered friends to watch in the back yard. :) (Mom thinks the feeder is up high enough where I won't bother it)

So, that's about it... it's mom's birthday tomorrow so we might celebrate with some Frosty Paws or something... We'll see if Dad thinks it's a special enough occasion for me to have some :)

slacker dog

Ok, I'm in the doghouse because I haven't written in awhile.

I am dictating while chewing on my bone right now, I had my first Frosty Paws earlier this afternoon and it put me in a wonderful mood!

Yesterday was SO hot... Dad put me in this big red tub they have that was full of water... I looked a wee bit miserable standing in there, but when I got out I ran around looking happy, so I think the water helped cool me off :) Then I played with the water spraying from the hose. It was lots of fun and mom and dad laughed at me a lot.

A week from today mom says I'm going to get spayed. I don't know what that means, but mom sure seems to feel badly about it. She knows that's best, but she doesn't want her wittle woogins to feel hurt.

I need to concentrate on this piece of the rawhide now, so I will yap at ya later.

Still kickin

It's been awhile.

Mom had surgery last week so she hasn't been updating as she should. She's had her hands full with me too, I'm growing and learning all new kinds of ways to drive her crazy.

She put a baby gate up on the staircase to keep me from going up and stealing garbage and socks from the bathroom, and laundry respectively.

She's working on figuring out how to keep me from splish-splashing in my water dish... I haven't done too bad on that today.

Today I got a new bed in the mail... mom ordered it for me. She took it out and put it on the ground and I climbed right in. In fact, I was laying on it a few minutes ago until I started to fall off, then I curled up on my old bed.

Dad has been setting his alarm earlier, and I can hear it so I start barking early. It drives mom crazy because she knows that dad doesn't wake up till 2 hours after the alarm first goes off... and it's a good hour before I'm supposed to get up. Grr!

*snore*

I've been napping most of this morning and mom's listening to me snore. :)

Mom and dad took me to meet a couple more of my "cousins" the other day, and I played nicely... they were a lot bigger than me though and wouldn't let me run around much. When mom and dad called me they'd get in my way.... They weren't mean to me really but they were big and intimidating!

Today is a nice day so when I wake up mom will probably take me on a nice long walk. She's waiting to see if she can get an appoitnment for a hair cut though so we'll see.

Ooh and tomorrow I'm going for my last round of pup vaccinations. At least i hope it's the last round! Seems like I"ve been at the vet nonstop!

Ok, time for mom to go make some lunch.

I have a new best friend!

...and a couple other new friends.

First, my new best friend Mr. Guck the duck. Mom and I went to Pet Smart for some socialization today... and she let me pick out a stuffed toy! I picked a Mallard Duck that quacks when I squeeze it real hard. mom keeps laughing b/c it startles me when he quacks. I am prancing with him all over the house. He is my vewwy bestest friend.

I also met 2 doggies today. One is a black lab mix named Millie. She lives the block over from us. Her mommy said she doesn't like most other dogs but she wanted to play with me! Mom let us play through the fence and sniff each other. I was a really good girl.

Then when we were at Pet Smart I met a HUGE Rottweiler. I don't know what his name was but we really liked each other and sniffed and wagged. I tried to jump at him when I first saw him, but then I calmed down and we approached each other in the aisles several times and I was a perfect lady.

Mom is really enjoying watching me with Mr. Guck. :)
