Arrival Story:
In early 2003, Lila wandered up to the house. To this day, we have no idea where she came from. We suspected she was a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but she was ridgeless so we weren't sure. It was confirmed when we found out she was expecting puppies. She had 11 healthy little stinkers. 7 of which had full, spoon shaped ridges. The father of the puppies is as big of a mystery as where Lila came from... but we believe he was a mix breed and certainly not another Rhodie.

Bio:
When Lila was almost two years old, she was poisoned. I found her in a coma and rushed her to the vet. They did bloodwork, and found nothing, but suspected anti-freeze poisoning. Her chances were not good. As we discussed having her euthenized, she passed on her own. We found out who poisoned her... and waited at the PD for two hours. When we were finally called back, they laughed in our faces and would not allow us to file a report. There's no such thing as justice in this town. Lila was such a special girl. The year and a half we spent with her seems like 2 weeks now. She'll always be greatly missed, and I think about her every day. RIP Lila. We still have a piece of Lila in her daughter, Natalie.
