Arrival Story:
Fred spent his first year in a kennel with an older sibling who liked to beat him up, and a caretaker who liked to smack the side of the kennel with a cane. Needless to say when my wife (Mom) adopted him he had "some issues", especially with sudden noises. Fred and his Mom travelled all over the country finally ending up here in California. The first time I met Fred was at work. I was walking by his mom's office and I saw that big Beagle nose poking out from under her desk. I had to go in and say hi (his mom was cute too!) Then we started dating ;no not Fred and I, but he did get to "go with" (he loves those words) quite often and still does. Now that his mom and I are married there is a dog bed permanently in the truck!

Bio:
Fred is a real dogs dog and a very well behaved boy. He is really not that interested in people. He would be described as aloof I guess, and would rather have a good sniff than a pat on the head from a person he doesn't know. I have known Fred now for almost 5 years, and his Mom laughs at how well behaved he has become. It is kind of a joke with her family that Fred is the 'good dog' now. While not to keen on strange people, he loves to socialize with other dogs. He has always enjoyed a romp at the dog park, though he is slowing down a bit as he gets older. He is a great big brother to Oliver our new puppy. Very tolerant unless there is a bone involved, then the puppy is told in no uncertain terms who is boss. What can I say, Fred is just a great dog!
