Quick Bio:
-purebred

Likes:
His buddy, a Gordan-Setter Mix named Zack and his German shepherd buddy, Carbon.

Pet-Peeves:
Laundry baskets turned on their side make him nuts. He's also not too fond of stairs and he really hates crows.

Favorite Toy:
My son is a favorite Farley toy! Farley thinks that gerbils are toys...but we're working on that!

Favorite Food:
Farley likes food of any kind! He especially likes the RAW diet. Broccoli gives him horrible gas...so we try to stay away from that for the sake of our noses!

Favorite Walk:
He definately prefers walks in the woods to walks on roads or sidewalks.

Best Tricks:
Farley knows "down," "leave it" "NO" "crate" "drop it" and "sit" "go potty" "dance" and "door" (which is where he closes the door for you).

Arrival Story:
I've always loved Pembroke Corgis, especially since I love training dogs. These guys are super-smart, but also impish so they can be a fun challenge. I finally found a reputable breeder in MN, so we almost called him Fargo. It was going to be that or Barley, and when telling people the two names we were thinking of we kept saying, "It's either going to be Farley or Bargo by accident, and Farley just sort of stuck!

Bio:
Farley has canine familial dermatomyositis (sp?). It's an auto-immune disorder triggered by vaccination that causes the hair to fall out around his eyes, ears, nose and lips, and replaces the hair with bleeding sores. Also, he loses pigmentation on his lips and nose. So far only steroids can manage it, but we're researching new ways of dealing with it. Since he's been switched to the RAW diet (away from kibble) he's had a complete turnaround and we've had fewer problems.

Forums Motto:
Impish love-ball full of trouble.

Cape Cod Corgi

Beach Day on Cape Cod!

I'm sooo lucky I live on Cape Cod! And I don't even have to pay all of the high real estate prices. It's good to be a dog.

Today we went to a "bay beach." I hear that there are "ocean beaches" here on Cape Cod, too, but I guess my owner wants to wait until my legs are a little longer before she tries me out on the big waves (as if my legs are going to be long! I'm a Corgi!).

I love the beach! So many smells...especially with a dead porpoise there. I growled and barked at it but it didn't get up. The smell didn't bother me at all but it made 5 year old Eben want to leave.

We walked on the jetty, or rather, I tried to. I kept slipping in cracks at first but then I got brave. Then I got too brave and Amber made us get down before I broke a leg. So I waded in the water, barked at the waves from boat wakes, chewed on some shells until Amber took them away (darn! I should never have let on that I understand the "drop it" command!) because she said she didn't want dead bi-valve barf in her car. Humans! They have no taste.

So now I'm a pooped pup and I'm off to sleep in a sunbeam until some fun or food comes calling!
