Arrival Story:
Cuddles was adopted from our local pound in 1993. My mom adopted her in hopes that she would be a good play mate for me, since I was only two years old at the time.
Bio:
Cuddles was a very sweet dog once she learned to trust you. She loved to play in her younger days, especially by chasing squirrels around the yard. Even up until the days before she died, you could just tell she was dieing to chase them up the trees.
She was an only dog for four years until we got Casey. Even after we made the addition of Casey, then Taz, then Bear, then Chii, she never ceased to be THE queen of the house. It was her house and the others sure knew that! You could always tell that no matter her age nor her health, she was the "leader" of our little pack.
In 2002, Cuddles developed some tumors around her breasts. They weren't malignant at the time, but during March of 2006, after an operation to get rid of some of the tumors , we discovered that she had lung cancer. The cancer started really hurting her in late August. We had decided to have her put to sleep on September 13th, however, when we went to check up on her that morning, she had already passed away in her sleep. Cuddles is highly missed. She was fourteen years old, and we'd had her for thirteen and a half of those years.
