Likes:
her mommies, tickle-a-belly, going bye-bye in the car, snuggling, after-bath time, a good chewie before bedtime, sleeping in, flirting with little boy doggies!

Pet-Peeves:
puppymills, pet shops that sell puppies, zerberts (she HATES them), tape measures for some reason (?), baths, vacuums, dogs that play rough, employees at any drive-thru that don't have a special treat for her - how dare they?!

Favorite Toy:
her talking teletubby "Po". she really "loves" her Po.

Favorite Food:
string cheese, anything yogurt-related, cheese, liver treats, carob-chip cookies from Petco, cheese (all in tiny amounts, of course).

Favorite Walk:
She loves to walk to the Punchline, the library and to restaurants in the neighborhood where we can sit outside - especially the ice cream shop!

Best Tricks:
whisper (sounds like a tiny "wuh"), a kiss and a snuggle to apologize for being a bad girl (she REALLY DOES apologize!), making friends, getting absolutely anything she wants with just a look, sit, down, rollover, stay, hi5, on-yer-back, dance, cuddle-in

Arrival Story:
Her mommy Cherie works at a pet clinic. This precious little maltese puppy (that looked like a teeny tiny kitten) came in from a local pet store :( with pneumonia. She was so very sick! After several weeks at the clinic her condition still wasn't improving. All of the hair on her body fell off, so she was this skinny little fluffy-headed naked dog; she looked alot like a chinese crested (not a healthy one). Well, by now I had visited a bunch and Cherie and I both had fallen completely head over heels in love with her. I had told all her coworkers at the animal hospital to NOT tell me if this precious little girl I called "tchelsi" ended up not making it. One night Cherie thought it might help if the puppy got some extra attention so we brought her home. She got lots of love and cuddles and doting on. She slept in my arms that night. :) The next day she started to make her turnaround. From that day forward she kept getting better and better. I don't think people are usually lucky enough to get a much clearer message than that. The decision to keep her was technically made a couple of weeks later, but clearly all of us (including tchelsi) knew she was "home" on that first night. She brings so much love and happiness to our lives.

Bio:
Tchelsi is a whopping 8 lbs of fluffy loving goodness. She is a doggie model whose portfolio grows thicker every day. :) Tchelsi participates in the Annual Atlanta Humane Society Pet Parade each year. She likes to educate people about puppymills, and why you should not buy puppies from pet stores. Tchelsi is the official "greeter" at the Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs Circle. She loves to get dressed up and going shopping with her mommies in her doggie bag. She somehow knows she's supposed to be incognito when we carry her in there. Just don't put your purse down in front of Tchelsi; she'll think she's supposed to hop in! Mommy Cherie always seems to get the warmest welcome from our little angel. Howevuh...Mommy Heidi (that's me) is the one Tchelsi snuggles up to at night - I'll take that trade!

Forums Motto:

Most Endearing Trait:
Tchelsi witnessed our cockatoo parrot freak out and bite me HARD. Later we were all on the bed when the bird suddenly CHARGED me. Acting quickly and selflessly, Tchelsi got between me and the bird and uttered a stern "WUH", stopping the bird in his tracks. My hero.

The Spaghetti Incident

Today I got caught being a bad girl. But instead of scolding me my mommies mostly just laughed at me. Mama Cherie was having some spaghetti. She had a momentary lapse of judgment and left me alone in the room with the savory-smelling pasta concoction. I hopped up and had my way with the bowl until I heard Mom coming back. I hopped down and went all the way to the other side of the room and lay down. I even put on my best “I’m a precious angel” face which helps me get away with a lot. I knew I was home-free because I had left plenty of spaghetti in mom’s bowl so she wouldn’t notice what I’d done. But I made one fatal error…apparently red spaghetti sauce is pretty easy to spot in my lily-white beard. Still, TOTALLY worth it!
