Arrival Story:
I had lost a pet. We had her put to sleep because she was old and weak, and we didn't want her to suffer anymore. Life around the house was so quiet without her around anymore, and it just seemed quite boring. A few months had passed and we decided we would look around to see if there were any dogs that we might like. I personally looked on almost everyday for dogs at shelters in our area. After a while, I found the most adorable dog at a rescue shelter in Howell, Michigan. We called the shelter and asked if Bebe was there, and they said yes. They wanted us to fill out an online form and send it to them before we could go see her. So we filled that out and then we headed out to Howell. When we arrived at the shelter we asked to see Bebe. She was the dog who was afraid to come out of her small cage. Other cages were sitting right next to her's, and others were sitting on top of those. A dog next to her would bark at her everytime she reached to eat some food, so she left it untouched. She was very scared. Finally we got her out of her cage, but she still sat close to it. She was sick, with Kennel Cough, fleas, and worms, she was dirty, and very thin. They also told us that she had been abused by her previous owner which I can't even imagine, it is so sad (at the time she was only 6 months old). By the time we were done talking to the lady at the shelter, Bebe had fallen asleep with her head on my lap. My parents asked me if we should get the dog, and I said Yes. From then on Bebe has been a member of my family.

I already told you about how we came about getting Bebe, but now she is a happy, healthy dog. She is still scared by loud or sudden noises, but she is always getting better.
