Birthday: February 10th 2002 Likes: FOOD, To be with his family, FOOD, have his tummy or throat rubbed, FOOD, giving kisses in your ear, and more FOOD. Pet-Peeves: Loud noises , hooting owls and when it is hot in the house Favorite Toy: When he is inside: his sisters donkey / When he is outside: a stick I found Favorite Food: Almost anything: but he loves peanut butter (See picture) Favorite Walk: A long one around the neighborhood, drinking from sprinklers along the way and carrying his leash as we return from getting the mail Best Tricks: Barking until his sister moves so he can take her spot or walk past her, and seat filler--taking my seat on the couch when I get up to go somewhere. He also has the uncanny ability to know and bark when it is 6 pm, when he gets his treats. Arrival Story: We got our first Newfy, a female from a breeder. When we decided to get an additional dog a year later, a half brother was available and we could not resist taking him home with us. When we first brought Kona home he did not want to come in the house. He wanted to lay in the cool grass. Now he enjoys laying around inside on the couch or on me. Bio: He is the sweetest dog! We knew Kona would be a very large dog. He weighs around 170 lbs. . He also loves to sleep on our bed with us and Makai at night, that is until he gets too hot, then he will go into his bedroom and sleep on a set of tiles we placed on the floor for him to keep cool . Forums Motto: Scratches and dog bones please. I've Been On Dogster Since:
We really enjoyed our day/night at the Giants game yesterday.
Kona loves all the attention he gets, although he barks too much. He had so many kids wanting to pet him and hug him all game long. Since he is so big, we could not sit in our assigned bleacher seats because when he lays down, he takes up 3 seats. We took place in the parade and it was fun to walk out on the field but the best part of the day was when we were on Fox Sports Net. Can't wait till next year.
We , meaning mostly Kona and Makai have been swimming in our new pool now for less than a month. Kona and Makai will be in it all year long. Right now Kona likes to stand on the step and wait for us to throw his favorite stick.
If he hears his half-sister behind him, he won't waste his energy because she is a faster swimmer. Of course it doesn't help that he weighs about 40 lbs. more than she does with a lot of that weight in his behind.
