Arrival Story:
In October 2004, my best dog pal Jacob died of Cancer. As much as I could hardly bear the thought of not seeing him anymore, I knew another foxhound was in our future. A few months later we adopted Jonah. We found him through Foxhound Rescue and Relocation which directed us to the RAP group in Westchester County, Pennsylvania. Earlier that summer, RAP rescued twenty-five Foxhounds after their owner died very suddenly. Jonah emerged as one of the group's "poster dogs" where he appeared in the newspapers and on television to help put the word out about the hounds. As of this date (August 23, 2005,) only two hounds remain to be adopted out of the original 25. The deal was sealed over a weekend when Jonah and his foster parents, Jolynn and David Churchill drove down so Jonah could meet us. As soon as I held him, I knew he was going to stay. To say he has livened up the house is putting it mildly. He is still a young pup and has worked hard to try and please. However, that does not stop him from getting into trouble on many occasions. He especially loves to come over to where I write everyday and put his duck-webby paws on the keyboard. He types too and is now working on his pup-ography.
