missing momma

Hi everyone. It's August 27 and Momma has been gone for so long I can't even remember what she looks like. Mamaw keeps telling me she'll be home soon, but it's been so long. I remember the last time I saw her. She was crying so hard and gave me a kiss and I didn't understand why I couldn't stay with her. She said I would be happier at home with Mamaw and Scooter. Mamaw says she'll be home Sepetmber 17 though. She's doing some internship thing in South Carolina, wherever that is. She told me before she left that she had to do this so she could make a lot of money and buy me every treat in the entire world, so I guess she better do it. Anyway, I miss her and love her. Sometimes she calls and Mamaw lets me listen to her voice, but it always tricks me because I think she's home. When I run to the window to see, she's not there though. Soon! Then I will never let her out of my sight again.

the kitchen counters

Most animals are not allowed on the kitchen counters and at my house it's no different. I guess really, I should even e able to jump up to the kitchen counter, but since I have a 4 foot spring, it's quite easy. Anyway, Mamaw puts my little brother's food up there when they leave so I can't eat it. I really like Scooter's food because it's the same kind I used to eat when I was a little girl. I thought it was safe. Mom had just walked out the back door and got in her car. I stood at the window and barked like I always do until I was sure she was gone. I jumped up on the kitchen counter and decided to make a pit stop at some papers that smelled kind of interesting. That's when I got busted. Mom forgot something and ran back in. She was too fast for me to even hear the door open, so I was caught standing on the counter looking at her like a deer in headlights. Luckily mom is the nice one and laughed and old me to get down. If it was mamaw, I would have been in big trouble. Well, when mom left, I got right back on the counter and ate Scooter's food. Mamaw found out, but I never got in trouble because I wasn't caught in the act. Life is good.

the cofee tables

Today, I wanted to lay down. Uncle Drew was on one couch and Mom was on the other. The chair was open, but the sun wasn't shining on it. Well, after an attempt to lay with mom and there not ebing room and attemtping to lay with Drew and not having enough room, I took a walk out on to the coffee table and laid down. It was perfect. The sun was shining right on me. The slate was a little hard at first, but something I was sure I'd get used to. Mom and Drew were laughing and Mamaw wasn't home so I was sure it'd be okay. They let me lay for about 1.5 minutes unti they could stop laughing enough to tell me to get down. I guess I'm not supposed to be up there. What hey don't know is I do it all the time when they aren't here. I'll just need to watch my step when they are from now on.
