Arrival Story:
My sister was looking for a small dog to be a companion for her older dog Rocko that was lonely and depressed. So we went and looked at her and her sister, they lived on a farm not far away. We get to the farm and a whole passel of dogs come running out to bark at us. There was the Father- a purebred short-hair mini dachshund, the Mother, a rottweiler and the Aunt from a previous litter. As we got closer to the house we saw a barn and coming barreling out of the barn are two of the cutest stubby legged puppies. We talked to the owners and found out there were only two puppies left. So we looked at the puppies and my sister fell in love with Roxy. She decided that Roxy would be perfect for Rocko. I fell in love with Andy her sister, so we took them home. Everyday I brought Andy, my dog, to visit with Roxy and Rocko. They all had fun chasing each other around the yard and fighting. A couple months went by and my sister realized Roxy was too much to take care of and wanted to give her away. I told her I would take her and so I did. Roxy was very shy and withdrawn; my sister wasn't mean to her or anything. Roxy was put in the basement to sleep with Rocko every night. Well she didn’t like that and as a result she wasn’t taught how to behave properly. When she moved in with us she didn’t know what to do. She went potty in the house before she got the hang of going outside. She became a super cuddly dog as she got used to interacting with humans and her sister on a daily bases. And that is how Roxy came to be with us, and a part of our family.

About a year ago Roxy came to live with us and we are very happy. She has made our little family bigger and a lot more interesting. Andy and Roxy are in separable. They will always be together.
