   Leave a bone for Stiffler

Stiff, Spiff, Sniff, Stiff-meister, Puddinhead, Legs, "Stop pooping in the hallway!"

Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Pooping in the hallway, peeling out on the terazzo, stretching out under the covers, car rides, Florida sunshine!

Hates being called a whippet and being petted when he's eating. He also HATES it when his brother, Mr. T. walks too close to him and he gets banged by Mr. T.'s tail.

Favorite Toy:
Poor Stiffler is too retarded to play with toys. He can't even chew a rawhide normally...he holds it down with his paws on the ground and his hiney way in the air...

Favorite Food:
He freaks out over scrambled eggs! He remembers that when he first came to live with us, he got scrambled eggs for breakfast, to give him a little extra weight. I'm sure he connects it with coming to his new family.

Favorite Walk:
Stiffy loves to walk on the beach, even though it isn't allowed. Because it makes him so happy, it would be worth any amount I would ever be fined!

Best Tricks:
Sadly, his only trick is 'mysterious farter'. You know the type: Comes into a room, rips one, then quietly leaves.

Arrival Story:
A year ago, when Stiffy was 6 (or thereabouts?) I called my friend Desiree who does dog rescue. When I say dog rescue, I mean, the bottom-of-the-barrel rescue. She even gets dropoffs from the pound! At any given time, she'll have 50-75 dogs on her property. My boyfriend says I'm on the short-track to becoming her (long way to go, we only have 5). Anyway, I called Desiree to 'foster' a small dog. I already had a Corgi and Chihuahua. She said 'Come get this little IG, he's perfect for you'. Well, he was a foster dog for all of about 13 minutes and 6 miles home. I never thought I'd say this out loud, but I have a's Stiffler!

Desiree didn't know too much about Stiff before he came to us, people who discard their animals do it clean...drop them off and take off. Stiffler definitely has some psychological problems, he will even growl at me when there's no provocation. I give him every benefit of the doubt and just continue to love and adore him, hoping that eventually he'll outgrow his weird behavior. Today I took him to the vet because he's been crying when he's trying to get comfortable on the couch or bed. I thought that he'd hurt his leg as IG's are prone to...but it's something I didn't expect, he's got several bulging discs on his back that are making his one leg go limp once in a while, he's taking Metacam, hopefully just until he feels better.
