Arrival Story:
I raised and rescued pitbulls for years, but always wanted an old world bulldog. Found a breeder of this rare type of bulldog, called a "Renascence Bulldog" at "Gargoyle Bulldoggs.com", and contacted him. Chadde turned out to be an amazing guy who knows more about bull breeds than anyone I have ever met in my 20 odd years with these dogs. I waited for two years for the chance to own a puppy, and in June of 2004 took a train out to Minnesota and met Chadde in person. The dogs were amazing! they were low slung . muscled freaks that had the drive of a pitbull. These are the original bullfighting bulldogs of old and have power and courage second to none. Balrog was the puppy's name and it fit him. He was sweet and playful and I fell in love with him right there. Two months latter, he was shipped out to Portland Or. He is the love of my life.

Bio:
This is the original bullfighting bulldog of old that predates the Pitbull, American Bulldog and English Bulldog. Special Roman proceurators designated "Proceurator Cinogie" scoured the European countryside some 2500 years ago looking for these dogs to bring them back to the Roman arenas to engage in staged combat with bears, bulls, lions, and men. They were said to be able to take all comers. Fortunately, they need no longer engage in such horrific bloodsports.
