On November 15th 2006, my darling sister Millie died.
It was very sudden and it was a great shock to all of us.
Mummy and I in the morning of 13th November found Millie laying on the floor of the lounge, near the animal flaps. She was so happy to see us and lay on her back with her arms out stretched to us both, purring away, but when Rupert came near her she tried to move and Mummy noticed that she wasn't moving her back legs.
Mummy rushed Millie to the vet, Mr. Turner, who said she had a Thrombosis on her spine and promised he would do everything he could for her, but said the outlook wasn't good and for two days he did. On the morning of the 15th, when Mummy was going to visit Millie the surgery called to say that she had deteriorated over night.
Mummy asked if I could go and say goodbye to her, but unfortunately I wasn't allowed.
Millie died peacefully in Mummy's arms.
Mummy was very sad and I did my best to help her feel better, but I know how sad she felt, as I did too. Millie was only 10 years old and I know it wasn't here time to leave me or Mummy.
Mummy collected Millie the next morning to take her to Willow Haven to have her cremated. I was allowed to go too and say goodbye to my darling sister there.
There is a huge void in our family now and I will miss my big sister and bestfriend everyday , as well as the kisses Millie used to give me every morning. I know though one day I will see Millie again.

I can't believe it's been so long since my last entry. I've obviously been very busy, walking, eating, playing and sleeping!
I had to have an operation on my left paw this past June. Mummy found a growth there. She seemed quite shocked when she found it as Mummy and I love holding paws before we fall asleep at night and so knew it wasn't there the day before.
I went and saw Mr. Turner my vet, who booked me into have the growth removed the next day. I don't like being away from my home and Mummy but as Mr. Turner always looks after me and gives me treats when I leave I don't mind going there at all. Thankfully the results came back that the growth was benign. Mummy took a photo of me showing my 'Please feel sorry for me' look, which seemed to work as she sent it to my cousin Jack (he's a border collie) in New York. My Aunty Ruth (Jack's Mummy) said that, Mummy was horrid for letting me be hurt like that and that she would never let Jack go through that kind of pain! I know she was joking with Mummy, but it's good to know she was on my side!
THEN, in July Mummy and I were out for our usual second walk of the day when she heard mieowing coming from behind lots of bushes and a big fench. There in the middle of the undergrowth was this ginger and white kitten looking at us and crying it's heart out. Mummy told me to sit down on the pavement while she tried to get it. Eventually she managed to get the kitten from behind the fence and with me walking next to her we took it home. We knocked on all the neigbours doors and called the vet to ask if they or anyone had lost a kitten but no one had, so now I have a baby brother called Rupert!
He's been with us now for 4 months and is VERY naughty. He loves to attack me when I am sitting in Mummy's room, biteing my head and playing with my tail. Mummy says it's okay for me to tell him off when he hurts me so that he'll learn not to do it again, but I don't like too, so Mummy tells him instead, which doesn't seem to fazes him at all.
Millie, my older sister and other cat is still my bestfriend but since Rupert has joined the family she seems to be grumpy most days and I hardly see her, which I don't really like at all.
Brothers eh, Nightmare!

Friday 4th March 2005
Hooray it's my birthday and it's snowing, this may be my best birthday ever!
I was woken up with a big hug from Mummy before she got dressed to take me out for our normal morning walk. As it was snowing I didn't get to see any of my doggie friends but I did get to see all the birds that Mummy and I feed every day. They don't seem to be scared of me at all, proberly as I just sit and watch as they fly over my head to get to their food.
After our walk, Mummy gave me my present which was a soft pink and white ball, which I love. I was so excited that I took it outside and played in the snow with it for at least an hour, getting all wet and dirty. Mummy didn't seem to mind and even took some photo's of me.
It's tiring work playing in the snow so after this I had a little nap. I was woken up by the smell of bacon. Mummy said that as it was my birthday I could have some with her. Mine was delicious, so much so that I tried to beg for some more off Mum but she was having none of it!
Grandma took me for my afternoon walk, which was lovely except all the snow had gone because of the rain and I came back with Muddy paws which I don't really like.
My sister Millie (she's a cat) wandered up to me and gave me a birthday kiss on the nose. To be honest, we normally kiss each other every day, but I know that this one was special.
Later in the afternoon and before my dinner and last walk I had another treat. I went with Mum in the car for a ride. I love going in the car and seeing all the other people. I sit with my head on the back seat of the car looking all sad to see if I can get people's attention and it normally works! Mummy always tells them the truth though, so that they don't worry.
Mummy downloaded the photo's of me playing in the snow and sent an email from me to her friends. Obviously, I told her what to write, it's easier for her to type than me with my paws on the keyboard! Jack my cousin, who's a Border Collie in New York sent me an email back, sending me licks and telling me what he has been up to recently in Central Park. He's so funny.
All in all I had a wonderful day, what with the snow, treats and birthday gifts. Whomever said it is a dog's life was right, mine's GREAT.
