I rescued her from a family whose son thought she was playtoy. He litterally terrorized her. The family dog also wasn't very accepting of her. When she arrived here, she was underweight, dirty, and scared of everything. She and I bonded immediately. Now we are an inseparable pair. I am a very happy little dog.

I have to share this writing that Chrissy, my human sister, gave mama when I passed away. Mama just found it this morning going through the drawers.

Dixie, you were mom's soulmate and best friend. We both loved you with all of our hearts. If mom was down you were there to make her laugh. You were a very special girl to the both of us. You always made us laugh when you barked. You bounced and your ears flopped. I know you are mom's angel now. I know when we hug your toys, you are hugging us back. We were so blessed to have you for 12 wonderful years. I know when we are crying, you are there giving us a kiss. I loved your eyes. You were a one of a kind. We love you Dixie. Rest in peace until we see you again.

Of course mama cried again. I know they still miss me and I miss them.

My momma is so sad right now. And I know she misses me so much. But I know she loved me and she knows I loved her. We will meet again someday. Until then I will live in her heart.
