My best canine buddy from down under passed away. She lived a happy and healthy 16 years. I will miss her greatly.

Gawd, the weather is hot. Even this morning the sun was intense. Today I think I will sleep in the bathtub where it is cool.

Hanging out downtown when these 2 girls ran over and started petting me and calling me "Kevin". Whats that all about? And who is this "Sandra Bullock, America's Sweetheart"? I thought I was. :-)

On today's walk I met the First Dog of the town ... i.e. the Mayor's dog. He maybe the First Dog, but I'm still the King! :-)

New Roof

Casa Kobe has a new roof! No more staying up witht the human all night wondering if the roof will leak. No more gathering wood shingles on the ground after storms. And no more having to listen to the neighbors asking "when are you going to replace your roof?" :-)

Anyway, during the week of construction I made new friends. The human thinks I may have mexican blood in me because I wanted to hump the roofer's legs. For the most part I was okay with them messing with my roof, that is until the pneumatic guns came out. I thought it was the 4th of July already! Oh, the roofers caught onto my trick of opening the yard gate. Damn them!

My favorite kitty past away yesterday. I am sad. What little time we actually spent together, it was fun. This was our routine -

*the human packs me up in the truck,
*human drives me over to the nephew's house,
*I jump out of the truck, head for the backyard,
*I see Bimmer, Bimmer sees me ... oh yeah, it is definitely on!
*I light the afterburners and Bimmer jumps to warp speed, heads for the fence,
*Bimmer jumps onto the fence, I crash into it,
*Bimmer disappears,
*I bark a few times and patrol the fence line to show who's boss,
*Next, I check out Bimmer's food and kitty litter box. Oh look, tootsie rolls!
*Human wacks me on the head and tells me to leave it alone.

Ahhhh, those were the days. I will miss you Bimmer. :-(

My human is calling me a terrorist dog because I unleashed a potent gas attack this morning. He is now thinking of contacting the CDC to see if he needs to quarrentine the house until when (or if) the gas dissipates.

Is It Spring Yet?

It sure feels like it. All weekend, people and dogs have been very attentive and playful. Heck, even the hairstylists who usually ignore me, gave me pets and hugs. Met Rosie the Great Dane who was very playful, even though she was like a couple feet taller. A Russian couple took our picture. The human tells me our picture will probably be Photoshopped and end up on some Russian porn site. :-) The best news? The human found a donut shop that has donuts waaaaaay better than Safeway.

The human also found a new toy for me. Its a flying pig! Not only does it look like a stuff pig, it "oinks" and flys. Hours of fun! Only thing is the human won't let me play play tug-of-war or chew on it.

Storm 2008

Woohoo! That was a dozy of a storm we had Friday. My first hint something was up was when the human wouldn't take me for a walk in the morning. So, in lieu of a walk and to get my daily exercise, I decided to balled up all the throw rugs, sofa covers, and comforters in the house. The human congratulated me for not missing a single one. Anyway, the winds blew like I never felt before. The human said his weather station registered a 50 mph wind and that it was over 30 mph from 7am to 2:30pm. The news said a 105 mph gust was recorded in the hills above us. I believe it. There is a house down the road from us that had a BIG tree in the backyard snapped in half. Not uprooted, but snapped. Sux for the owners because it looked like it fell onto their roof, a new metal tile roof. But it really suxs that the house is on the market! The human said the rain total was only 3 inches. I barked it was probably a lot more, just water blowing sideways tends not to go into the bucket. Saturday we walked downtown and saw a lot of tree limbs and fences down. I BIG tree at the park was also blown over. Casa Kobe is fine ... just the normal littering of the front and back yards with broken wood shingles. The human is hoping there is enough of the roof left to last the season. Oh, the human wanted to drive the other truck and the garage door wouldn't go up. It seems like the door is waterlogged and too heavy for the opener to lift. The front of the house bares the brunt of all the storms that comes through. Good thing the human parks the other truck outside. We didn't lose power. But Max's house did. They were without power for over 24 hours. That was bad because Sierra the iguana lives there too. They almost had to bring her to PetSmart to keep warm. News is saying there are still a lot of people without power even though its 3 days after. Looks like the rest of the week is gonna be wet and more winds on Tuesday. Time to warm up the chainsaw. I'm gonna be one cranky pup if I don't get out for my walks!
