Arrival Story:
I saw her picture on the Blue Dog Rescue Web site and fell in love! She had such a sweet face and was described as an "adventure girl." Boy is she ever!
I tried to get friends and coworkers to talk me out of adopting her, but everyone who saw her picture was equally smitten. So on a sunny Saturday in October 2004, the volunteers from Blue Dog brought Rowen to my apartment. She immediately set about exploring under the hedges!
Our first week was rough---Rowen would cry and bark all night---and I wondered if I could really handle the responsibility of a dog. But by the end of the week, I couldn't imagine my life without her.
Bio:
Rowen was born in a litter of eight at a state penitentiary outside of Austin. The warden sent her and her siblings to a shelter, but the shelter couldn't take care of a litter of puppies. So the shelter staff called Blue Dog Rescue, which placed all of the pups in loving homes.
