Must I re-train her?

This past Saturday, My mom thought it would be great fun to play in the backyard...kinda work off some extra energy.

She grabbed my ball, got me all excited and then, when I was about to mug her for it, she threw the ball all the way down to the other side of the yard. Then mom looked at me like I was supposed to fetch it. Good grief! We've been over this. If she was that darn excited about the ball, she should have to go get it.

I gave her a look that clearly said, "Fetch it yourself! Who do you think I am?"

After realizing her error, she went to the other side of the yard and fetched it herself. I was quite proud of her. Still, must I always retrain her? After all these years, one would think she'd retain SOMEthings.
