Arrival Story:
I was on my way to night classes at NYU and I passed the doggie day care place in my neighborhood in Brooklyn (Monster Mutts) and they were having an adoption day. I decided to wait and look at the dogs that were coming from Animal Haven. I wanted a small, older dog. I saw Bella and she was so calm and beautiful and I decided I wanted her. I was able to adopt her that day - the home inspection took place and she was mine.
Bio:
My first few months with Bella were really difficult. First, she had kennel cough, then she had conjunctivitis in both eyes, she had MAJOR separation anxiety, she was not (and still is not) crate trained - she's the master at breaking out of crates...then, one day a few months after I adopted her, I found that she was bleeding. It turns out that she was not spayed, as the shelter originally thought she was. Then we moved and during her exam for her spay, it was discovered that she had heartworms...This was all within 6 months...1 year later, she is spayed, heartworm free and beautiful. She is still untrustworthy when left alone - she has destroyed my mattress, pillows, every sheet in the house, numerous shoes - but I wouldn't trade her for the world!!!!!

You bark at a passing dog, and then come running and crying over to us. You jump up on us with a smiling face and playful eyes. You play with the cats as if you were a cat - you fight with your paws. You try to catch with your paws instead of you mouth. When you try to catch with your mouth, you get hit in the head. You always make sure to have a paw on daddy when you cuddle with mama. You love everyone. We love you!

Nanas gone. I don't know where she is but she's been gone a really long time. Mama says she went to Jennifers house but when is she coming back? Is she coming back? I was really bad today. I destroyed mamas bed again cuz I was mad that Nana went away for such a long time. Maybe she won't go away again. Mama's gonna have to clean up those feathers for a really long time...

It's Thursday night and I'm all in a flutter cuz mama's staying home tomorrow - it's a Bella day!!!!! She ordered Chinese food tonight and she got me a egg roll to celebrate. I love her. We have to figure out soon where we're gonna move to cuz nana sold her house. I'll keep you posted cuz I think I'm gonna end up a southern Bella hehehehehe
