Taking My Retirement Seriousliy

I am getting to be a senior citizen at 10-1/2 years old. I like lounging around and having people pet me but I still have a lot of energy and mischief in me. I still like to shred paper for recycling. Mom isn't too happy that sometimes I chose to shred the wrong paper. I was just trying to help clean her desk top! I still like to pounce on my toys and toss them around. One of my favorites is a bone made by my "Aunty Janet."

Dog Days

I am doing what I like best, just hanging around. Our latest foster sister finally found her own home, so things are much quieter around here. I am getting too old for all the commotion those young dogs bring. She was pretty cute though. Mom and Dad got me a ramp so I don't have to jump in and out of the car. I wasn't so sure about that thing until Dad produced some pieces of hotdog to make it more enticing. Now I have it figured out. Does that mean I don't get any more hotdogs? I may have to rethink things.

Catching Up

Mom has not been very good about helping me with my diary! I am now 10 years old. I must say that I still look pretty good even though the grey hairs are taking over. I am also still pretty playful. I love my toys!

My Alabama Rot has been acting up a little, so I am taking more medication to get it back under control.

Can you believe that Mom took a picture of me in her boots? She even sent it in to a local TV show and it was aired on Good Day Sacramento. My neighbor asked for my autograph.

I think I see an unattended couch so I am off to claim it.

Santa Paws

Mom took me and Madison to the annual Santa Paws event at the Sacramento SPCA. Some of the volunteers remembered me from last year and came by to visit. Everyone who meets me remembers me by my overbite. They say it is cute! I didn't like the yellow couch being used for the pictures, maybe that is why I could not relax and show off for the camera. Madison was a real pro for her first time.

Living with the Girls

It was bad enough living with one sister, but this having two of them is a bit much at times. They run all over the place and leave toys everywhere. I found out that going into Sonia's crate is the best place to be when the girls are playing. Mom and Dad think I look so cute in the crate. I am a cute boy!

Having the two young girls in the house can be exhausting for an old dog! I found out that I could hang out in Calla's crate and no one would bother me! Sometimes Mom gives me some "lap" time to make up for all the attention the girls get. I get to snuggle up with her on the couch. I do have fun running with Madison and Callain the yard, boy are they fast! Then I take a very long nap.

She is so pretty!

Today we went to Elk Grove Park and met up with two other greyhound moms, Janet and Mary Lynne. Janet brought George and Misty Blue and Mary Lynne brought Mojave and the love of my life, Elly May. I just go nuts when I see her. She smells to good! I can't wait to see her again at the greyhound picnic!

Sisters - Who Needs Them?

Yesterday Mom brought home two new fleece toys. Why did I have to share? I can play with lots of toys all at the same time. I fixed Madison, I chewed a hole in the duck toy that was supposed to be hers. Mom will have to do some surgery on that one.

Life with Madison

It looks like Madison is here to stay so I better get used to having her butt in for attention. She can get pretty pushy when she wants Mom or Dad to pet her. They think it is cute, but I could do without the competition.

Yesterday our grandma came to visit. She loves me! Madison is still warming up to her, so I got to have almost all of Grandma's attention. I tried to get her lunch too, but Grandma said no.

Yawn, I have been awake for almost 30 minutes. It is time for a nap. This retired greyhound life is exhausting.

My Sister Madison

Boy, that new sister of mine is getting to be a pest. I want my people to save all their petting for me, but now I have to share it and she is cutting in on my time. She even tried to push her way in this morning. Harumph! One thing I like is that she doesn't always finish her food right away so I can sneak in and clean her bowl for her. That didn't work this morning. Do you think she has figured out that she needs to finish her meals? We get to go on longer walks now but Madison gets impatient with me. I want to sniff every blade of grass along the way and she just wants to get out there and walk. Mom seems to be more on Madison's side on this one, but she makes sure I get to stop and smell things once in a while. Well, it is nap time now. This retirement thing is tiring!
