Arrival Story:
TJ and I adopted him from the Tucson Humane Society the first day he was available in September 2002. At first we were just planning to take him out to the yard for some exercise but they made us fill out the adoption questionnaire and do the interview. We put him on "hold" Friday night and decided to adopt him on Saturday morning. Poor guy was a stray and seemed to be surviving eating the bean pods from the mesquite trees. We couldn't keep him away from those, even had to cross the street when we walked him to avoid a big pile of them! The dude at the pound said he'd only grow to be 80 lbs or so, but he's just around 100 lbs now.

I spent all last week wearing this big giant cone attached to my collar. It made me feel so stupid! All because I kept licking my foot until it turned all red. Well, it hurt! And then my people kept giving me yummy bits of cheese which made me all tired and sleepy. It was a weird week for The Peanut.

Thanksgiving weekend at the dog park

My people took me to the dog park three times this weekend. I know when the Boy One wears his Magic Hat that it's time to go to the park. Then the Girl One tells me to go get my collar and my leash and that gets me so excited I start jumping around like a large Peanut-frog.

On Friday there were some small creatures in my house. They didn't smell like people, but they didn't smell like dogs either. They had fun toys and kept dropping food on the floor. I got in trouble when I tried to lick one in the face. He fell down and started making a funny sound. One of them made a funny sound every time he saw me. The Girl One told me it was baby sign language for the word "dog". Whatever that means. I need to go take a nap now.
