Arrival Story:
Cody was my very first dog as an adult. I got her from a breeder in Scotsville, VA as I was finishing my 4th year at UVa. She was one of 11 in her litter!! She stayed with me in Charlottesville at UVa two more years during Graduate School too.
Bio:
Cody has truly been my best friend through thick and thin the past 10 years. Time has really flown by as I can't believe she's already 10. With no formal training, Cody knows many commands and tricks -- She is by far the smartest dog I've known; she can read people's moods, expressions, etc; and literally communicates with me with her own different actions and expressions. She is a true sweetheart.

It's with a heavy heart that I write to let everyone know that our beloved Cody crossed the Bridge on Fri, September 15, 2006. She was one week shy of 11.5yrs old. She became ill suddenly earlier in the week and we found out she had a tumor in her heart, a hemangiosarcoma. Thankfully, we were able to spend the last few hours together and say good-bye.
We miss her terribly and will never forget all of the wonderful times we shared together. You were the best and they'll never be another like you Ms. Cody-code!
Run free sweet girl. Say hi to Monte and Tyler! Thinking of and missing you every day!
