Update

Well my legs seem to be doing fine. I didn't hurt my back. Thank God!! I am on antibiotics and another kind of pill to help my tummy, cause I was having tummy troubles right after my leg problems. Now I am just soaking up all mommy's attention. Thanks to all who stopped by to wish me well.

The Vet

Okay I went to the vet today. He said that I might have a disc going out in my back. There is also a possibility that I might have hurt my leg going upstairs or rough housing with my brother, OR jump up and down from the funiture. I have to be off my leg for most of the next two weeks. My mommy is going to have to carry me up and down the stairs and NO playing with my brothers. I am going to get so spoiled.

Thanks for your caring support. I will keep everyone posted as the weeks go on.

Tomorrow :(

I have to go to the vet tomorrow. I am having some leg problems and my mommy wants to make sure that it doesn't have something to do with my back. I do hurt. It's hard for me to go up and down stairs. I will post again tomorrow when I get home.

I'm spoiled

Mommy told me last night that I am her favorite little girl.

You see, I was the first Dachshund in mommy's life. For almost 2 years I was the only one (besides daddy now and then) that had mommy's complete attention. She spoiled me. They tried to keep me locked up at night and not in bed with them. But I cried and cried and cried until mommy's heart couldn't take it anymore and now the bed is mine. All mine. Even though I have 3 brothers I still get to be the only pooey in bed with mommy and daddy.

Every night mommy and I have this routine. I can tell when it's about time to go to bed cause mommy looks at me and says "is it time to go to bed sweet girl?" I then run real fast toward the bedroom, but mommy always has to stop and take a shower. So while she does that I sit and wait patiencely for her to get done. Right after her shower she puts me on the bed and gets dressed. Where again I wait patiencely for her to go get a glass of water for her and a little bowl of water for me. On her way back she puts my brothers in their cages and gives them a goodnight treat. She always brings me a treat and a half. After she climbs into bed she tucks me in tight and gives me lots of kisses, which I am glad to return!!! She says "I love you and goodnight" and I drift off to sleepy land.

So now try and tell me that I'm not spoiled.

Hi all,

My daddy took me to the Vet yesterday to get shots. It hurt so bad and then when I got home I spend all afternoon and all evening with hives. They itch me so bad. My mommy kept me by her side all day. I looked awful and felt worse. But when we all woke up this morning, I am all better and my mommy and daddy are relieved.

Watch out for those shot!!! :(

I can hear each breath she takes
my lap is her favorite place to be
my heart fills with joy
knowing she needs to be close
wrapped in a warm blanket
and her unconditional love
is enough to keep me warm
a few stolen moments
alone with her
is all I need
before the stillness disapears
and the weight of the world
finds it's way back to me.

Gracie is special because...

Gracie is special because she is my dog. She has a beautiful spirit and all you have to do is look into her eyes to see her soul. Everyday she brings joy to my heart and licks to my face. She is my protector, my friend, and my pride and joy. Her love is unconditional and I don’t deserve it most of the time, but she gives it anyway. Three years ago I went to choose a puppy to fill a void in my heart, she must have known that I needed more than a puppy, because she chose me and I got a true and loyal friend.
