Birthday: May 20th 1992 Likes: Laying in daddy's arms watching t.v., going for rides, chasing cats and squirrels, snuggling under the blankets (binkies/cave), and just being with mommy and daddy. Pet-Peeves: baths, nail cuts, and teeth cleaning. If mommy or daddy ask me if I want a bath, I hide UNDER the couch. Favorite Toy: my "baby" stuffed mouse. Favorite Food: Chicken Favorite Walk: Mine Falls Park, Nashua NH; Greeley Park, Nashua NH; Hampton Beach NH; and the White Mountains Best Tricks: I dance for treats, and sit up on my butt like a squirrel or chipmonk. Arrival Story: I was "rescued" by my daddy from a nasty pet shop in Pennsylvania. I was kept there in a glass box, filled with dirty smelly wet cedar shavings that got all tangled in my hair. My bowls were dirty, and I also had ear mites. When I saw my daddy, I thought "ok, this has got to be the one...so look good!" I smiled up at him, and I guess that did it, as he took me home. I soon realized, I would have a "brother", named Kuhljo. He was my best friend. I lost him a year ago, but talk to him every now and then...I do miss him so though. He was a great brother. After meeting him, daddy insisted on doing the bath thing...then dry me, and brush me, etc. Then he put a big red bow on my head, and put me under the blankets in the bed! Soon after that I met my mommy!!!! She was SO SURPRISED when she lifted the blanket and saw me! I smiled at her and kissed her all over! I was her birthday gift!!!! It made me SO HAPPY to be there to give them joy! I love them SO MUCH! They keep me safe, and even got me another "brother" so I don't have to be alone when they are not home. Bio: I am also part Poodle...daddy and mommy have always said I have to sweetest disposition of any dog they've ever seen. Hey Monte...you've just been tagged by Kadie! You've been given wings! What a sweet, and beautiful gesture, that means so very much to us! Monte was so very very special to us, and its still very difficult. We miss him each and every day, and think about holding him and telling him he's safe, and will always be safe with us. You're always with us in spirit Monte...you are loved so much!!! Summer, your favorite season, isn't the same without you...but knowing you are safe, not in pain anymore, and most of all, with your best buddy Kujo, gives us great comfort. We love you baby!
On January 9, 2007, our "special baby" went to the Rainbow Bridge to join his "best buddy" Kuhljo. He was diagnosed with cancer in his mouth, in September 2006, and we were told he'd have 1-2 months left. Due to his age, and existing kidney disease, we chose to just keep him comfortable and not do the extremely invasive surgery. He stayed with us and gave a strong fight for 4 1/2 months. He had his last Thanksgiving dinner with us and throughly enjoyed it. He had his last Christmas with us and got to see everyone that he loved so much. On Saturday January 6, 2007, it was nearly 70 degrees here in New England...a great bonus day for that time of the year, so off we went to Monte's very favorite place to walk and run...the beach! He had a nice walk, and even was able to sprint a bit. Then he took a nice nap in the sun for a bit, and then walked a bit more. He took a turn for the worse on Monday January 8, 2007, and we knew he was telling us, "mommy, daddy...its time to let me go." Our hearts are broken and no one will ever begin to know just how much we will miss him..."our special baby". We called him this, because of all the medical problems he seemed to be plagued with thru the years. Kennel Cough, Seperation Anxiety, Bladder Crystals and Stones, many problems with the teeth, a torn ligament in his leg, and then Cancer. As if that wasn't enough, cataracs developed and blinded him in one eye. But with each and every challange that came his way, he battled them head on, and moved on and adjusted, and remained a very happy gentle little boy. On Monday January 8th 2007, we could see he just could not go much longer. He was tired and ready to go. We would kiss him each night at bedtime and tell him if he needed to go to the Rainbow Bridge, it was ok, and we would understand. He went there on Tuesday January 9th, 2007, after we had one more night with him. We will never forget his ever so gentle spirit, his smile, loyalty, and most of all the endless love he gave us! He was quite an inspiration. We are so very grateful for all the "extra" time we had with him, and especially the beautiful day at the beach on January 6th...when its normally very cold and windy. We feel it was a blessing just for him, so he could see his favorite place to walk and run, for one last time.
Monte...you'll always be our "special baby"...our hearts are broken, but we were so blessed to have your gentle soul in our lives for nearly 15 years! You will be FOREVER in our hearts. We love you baby...go on and play with your brother Kuhljo now at the Rainbow Bridge...and coral him in when he runs too far just like you used to do with him on the beach!!! We LOVE YOU BABY!!!
Mommy and Daddy, and Yankee Doodle too!
