Arrival Story: Bug's litter brother, CJ (Guard My Angel) was our first Greyhound. We became friends with his breeders and met the rest of the litter, all of whom were still racing at the time. We adopted LB (Trackside Angel) a year later, and Bug and her sister Sweety (My Sweet Angel) went back to the farm to have puppies. Years went by, litters were whelped, and we visited with Bug and Sweety often. When they were retired from breeding we asked to adopt them, but their breeders had a hard time letting them go. Finally they gave in and at the age of 9, both sisters came home to live with us. CJ and LB had both died by that time, but we had four of Sweety's pups here (and later got one more, so the girls came to live with lots of family. We never realized it when Bug was living in the kennel or on the farm, but she is VERY much like her brother CJ, except that he was very much a Daddy's boy and Bug is mostly a Mama's girl. But she has many of his odd little mannerisms. So not only do we love her for her own wonderful self, we're grateful to her for bringing back a little piece of CJ to us.

Bio: Since Bug had known us for most of her life, she slid easily into home life even though she had spent her first 9 1/2 years living in a kennel. She's an absolute love sponge and will do almost anything for attention. She sits naturally, which is something most Greyhounds don't do. When I first saw her sit, I told her what a wonderful sit that was, and before the end of the day she was sitting on command. By the next day she would sit on a hand signal. She usually get praised lavishly for it. So if she wants attention, she'll walk up to you and sit, looking at you expectantly. If you don't notice, she'll stand up, poke you with her nose, then sit again, and repeat this until she gets the praise and ear rubs she's after. She's a funny old gal and we're crazy about her.
