Arrival Story:
We visited the adoption kennel at Wheeling Downs and decided we'd like to foster a Greyhound. Lou, the adoption director, took each dog out of his/her crate for us to meet. When she took Cass out, we just stood back and watched her run laps around the ceiling. She was the most exuberant dog I'd ever seen! My husband and I talked about it and it turned out we both like Cassidy best, so we brought her home to keep while we tried to find a permanent family for her. We fostered Cass for about 15 minutes before we decided there was no way we were letting her go.

Bio:
Cassie came to us at the age of 4 1/2 after a relatively long racing career. She was our 3rd Greyhound. Before she came we had two fairly quiet boys, CJ and Blarney. Boy, did Cassidy liven things up! Even though she was older than the boys, she could and did run circles around them and she quickly took over the house. Now (2005) Cass is 12 years old, but she still looks and acts like she did when she was 4. Update 2006 - Our beautiful Cass left us for the Rainbow Bridge in February. She had bone cancer. We miss her desperately. But in true Cassidy fashion, she enjoyed her life up to the last hour and still looked like a young hound even though she was only two months shy of her 13th birthday.
