Arrival Story:
We adopted Elmo from Greyhound Angels Adoption. We met them At Dewey Beach, greyhounds reach the beach. Poor Elmo was really beat up from running on the tracks and his kennel experience. Not too deep down he was a real sweetheart--We love him!

Elmo lost his right rear leg to osteosarcoma in June 2006. He is receiving chemotherapy at Ohio State University. He is adapting very well to being a three legged dog. He will be restarting making therapy visits to Children's hospital and rehab hospitals once his chemotherapy is finished. We also plan to participate in a read with a dog program at my youngest skinchild's school in the fall.

It's been a year our sweet boy since you went to the rainbow bridge. It seems like just yesterday when you came to live with us, a shy, sweet boy. My how you bloomed once you realized you were staying with us forever! If only forever was longer. Two years after you became a member of our family, you had to leave us because of the cancer monster. Through all the treatments and surgery, you were as sweet and loving as ever. You now run free of pain, whole and carefree. We miss you and love our special bridge angel.
love and kisses,
your family

Today my sweet boy, you went to the rainbow bridge. You were an amazing friend from the moment we met you until the day you had to leave us. You fought brilliantly against the cancer monster, never complaining about the treatment meant to try and save your life. We were blessed with an extra 6 months with you after your diagnosis. So many happy memories, so many happy days. We only wish you could have had more time with us. So run free my sweet boy, free of pain, breathing easily, whole once more. Until we meet again, We love you!

I'm a Firehouse dog!

Woohoo! Mom just told me that I was selected to be in the credits of a movie called "firehouse dog". I like that title, but I wouldn't want to live in any house that is on fire! I'm doing much better since my "little surgery", and I can hop just about anywhere on 3 legs. I am very excited to be on the big moving picture screen, this helps me feel LOTS better! I can't wait to see my picture and my pals pictures after the movie is done. I bet the dog who is in the movie is pretty cool. Heck, he has a whole movie just about him. I'm just proud to have been chosen to be one of the pups in the end credits. Thanks dogster for letting us know about this cool contest. Now where are my sunglasses, I'm ready for my close up Mom!
