Quick Bio:

Birthday:
December 15th 2004

Likes:
Love, attention, hugs, kisses, love, petting, attention, playing, love, running crazy in circles, playing with gracie, chasing after the cats, attention, napping, and love.

Pet-Peeves:
Not being first, being ignored

Favorite Toy:
Kongs filled with tasty peanut butter and "popcorn" treats

Favorite Food:
Kirkland's best! No corn for these babies!

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere but down "the street with the mean doggies" - they are left outside alone a lot and aren't used to having other doggies to play with, so they jump out and bark at us when we walk by. It's sad and also scary for me. I just want to say hi!

Best Tricks:
I love to catch things in the air with my paws! I also love to dive into my baby pool in the backyard after toys my mama throws in for me.

Arrival Story:
*Narrated by my mom* Julie and I have two kittens, Joey and Maggie, that we adopted in the summer of '04 from an organization in Southeast Michigan called Happy Tails. They are a no-kill animal rescue that fosters animals until they find their forever homes, so they are never in any kind of institution or shelter. Most of the time the animals are kept with a whole host of other animals, so they are socialized very early and have great personalities. We had such good success with Joey and Maggie that we decided to take the plunge and see about getting a dog. It was pretty much love at first sight. He was at the Petsmart meet-n-greet on a Saturday, and he waltzed right up to me from inside the crate and just watched. They let me hold him and BOY was he little. He was such a sweetheart. He gently rested his little head on my shoulder and I just knew we'd be taking him home. Our lives haven't been the same since. I can't imagine what it would be like without him!

Bio:
I was told at the adoption that Jake's mom is the labrador and his father was the springer spaniel. Neither of them were fixed (why I'm not exactly sure), so when his mom went into heat they would lock her in the basement to keep her away from dad. Well, dad got so frustrated and out of control that he *broke down* the basement door and had his way with mom. How's that for a dog with a mind of his own, eh?

Wow, it's been a while since I've written in here. But I don't have much time because I want to go play with my new sister Gracie!

I'm pretty big now - almost 65lbs. And I LOVE my life. Life is great. I love my moms, my two feline siblings, and of course my new baby sister. Things could not be getting any better than they are right now.

Currently my favorite toy is anything rubber, because I love to rip open the stuffed ones and toss the stuffing everywhere. The rubber ones are sturdy and last longer. I have a giant orange bone that my moms got for me at Old Navy for $1 that I absolutely love, and I carry it with me everywhere.

I'm a little worried though - a couple of days ago I overheard one of my moms say to the other something about "puppy training classes" - I'm not too sure about that. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see what they're talking about. =/

I'm SO smart.

I figured out the best trick to get mom's attention this morning!

I found out that if I kick my blankets to the other side of my crate divider, then start scratching the floor of my bed like I'm uncomfortable (not to forget the ever-pathetic whines of despiration), mom will come right over and let me out.

Sure it's only for a few minutes while she fixes the blankets, but she'll pet me and give me lots of hugs and kisses too. And you know that makes it all worth it!

I can't believe I get a diary!!!!

Hi! I'm Jake. I'm almost 4 months old. I'm kind of hyper right now, but mom says I'm gonna grow out of it someday. She says it's cuz I'm a laberator or something. I don't know what she's talking about, but I sure do love her anyway!

Today has been great so far. Much better than yesterday, that's for sure. Both my moms were gone a lot yesterday, and I missed them a lot. But today my one mom is home and so far we've gone on a walk AND I got to go with her in the car to some weird place were she sticks this thing in the car and it makes clicky noises. Then it was so weird, she got back into the car, said, "All Done!" which really through me off because she usually only says that after I'm done peeing, but whatever, and we drove off.

My mom's kind of weird sometimes.
