Arrival Story: I first saw Kuma in ACA pups. She was the last akita left. The next week i went to see if she was still there and she was. So i called my partner and bugged him to let me get her and he said no. After chucking a tantie he finally gave in and we went the next week to see if she was there. She was. She had spent almost a month in there and no one would buy her. We put a deposit down, built some fences for our old house, and she was ours 2 days after that!

Bio: When we took Kuma for puppy classes we found out from another akita owner who also bought their dog from ACA pups [who also had problems] that word was getting around that Kuma was sick. I guess this was part of the reason no one would buy her. Kuma WAS quite sick. The first day we brought her home we had to take her to the vet as she was coughing. She had kennel cough. It wouldnt go away and she was diagnosed with a particularly tough strain of it. After months of Kuma wetting herself in her sleep and the vets telling us 'its just a puppy phase' we finally convinced the vets to do a wee sample. We knew something was wrong from the word go. She was diagnosed with a severe bladder infection. Kuma has had food sensitivities since a pup and because we didnt find this out until she was 9 months old, she ended up being very little and stunted due to not eating well. Although I would never ever buy from ANY kind of pet shop again, kuma is a great lil gal and im convinced that if we didnt get her, she would have been put down by now as other people might have blamed some of her problems on bad behaviour. We love you Spoochetta!
