   Leave a bone for Toby

Tobert, Tobster, Monkeyman, Little man, and Medium

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog

February 14th 2004

Toby loves his family, playing, dog parks, car rides, eating anything he can get his mouth around, and getting into mischeif.

When he misplaces someone in the house and has to go searching, and he hates when the blanket he is laying on has wrinkles in it, and he has to scratch and drag it to fix the problem. He is a perfectionist

Favorite Toy:
Toby loves all his toys, and does not discriminate between his stuffed animals, squeeky toys, tennis balls, unmentionables he steals from laundry baskets and carries around like a prize, and anything else that he deems a toy.

Favorite Food:
Loves Ice Cubes!

Favorite Walk:
The dog park. He is a social butterfly, and absolutely loves playing and racing with the other dogs....and peeing on all the plants and trees. :)

Best Tricks:
He can hear the fridge open or the ice maker from every floor and room in the house. Even when people don't hear it.

Arrival Story:
Toby came to us from the Sacramento SPCA when he was five months old. His previous owner had cancer, and it came to the point where she could not care for him so she surrendered him to our shelter. I went in on one of my weekly volunteer days and fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. Toby was hyper, loud, couldn't sit still for a moment, already did a fabulous bichon buzz, and was the most adorable little thing I had ever seen. He was on hold for another family, but they never showed up for him. He was put on hold for me that evening, and we brought the whole family in the next morning. Our then dog, Cassidy, of course hated him and his puppy ways. He won us over though and we adopted him!

Kodie and Toby are versatile dogs who are happy anywhere as long as they are with family. When I moved to the east coast for graduate school, the boys took the bi-yearly cross country plane rides in stride, and now they are settled as completely east coast dogs. Some people seem surprised that our family went through the trouble of bringing them back and forth for two years, but the boys are a part of our family, and that says it all. He is just a special dog that makes sure there is laughter in our home everyday. Tobster is a source of constant entertainment and behaves like a mischievous toddler most days, however, we love him. You can see from his pictures that he has a mischievous twinkle in his eye....that twinkle is always there and well earned!
