Likes:
I love to go to the park with my sister, Emma Mae! Once I am there, I love to swim in the creek. I also enjoy snuggling with my people at night, with my head on their pillows. I am suspicious of most people, but once I trust you, I will love you 4ever!

Pet-Peeves:
Tall men with funny hats that look me right in the eyes. I had a rough puppyhood, so I need new people to take it slow!

Favorite Toy:
I love chewing on bones, especially pig ears, bull pizzle, and castor and pollux rawhides. I also love my ball- fetch is my favorite game.

Favorite Food:
cheese- all varieties (I'm an equal opportunity cheese eater), all natural peanut butter, steak, and, when I am desperate- dog biscuits.

Favorite Walk:
I love Robert E. Lee park in Baltimore because of all the good places to swim!

Best Tricks:
I know how to spell! I used to get really excited when my mom said:" Park" so she started saying "P-A-R-K", but I figured out right away what that spells! I am also very good at shaking hands.

Arrival Story:
I was born at hoarder's house. She did not spay or neuter any of her pets, so there were a lot of puppies! This hoarder used to sell the puppies, but for some reason, nobody bought me. There was a nice lady that lived on our block that did rescue work. I was dumped outside her house. She took me in and put me on petfinder.com, where my daddy saw me. My name was "Rasta" and my daddy loves Bob Marley and all things rastafari, but he decided to wait before he got a puppy. My daddy's sister-in-law and mom (now grandma) went to pick up a dog that they adopted from the same rescue group that I came from! My grandma saw me sitting there, alone. I was only 3 months old and all of my other siblings had already been adopted. My mom asked the nice rescue lady what my name was and she said: "This is Rasta!" When my grandma realized that I was the puppy that my daddy fell in love with on petfinder.com, she decided to bring me home to him. He was so excited to see me! He is the best daddy any dog could ever hope for, he takes me everywhere with him.

Bio:
Maggie passed basic obedience and is now in advanced basic. This is quite an achievement for a dog with the emotional problems that she has. We are very proud.

I turn a whole THREE years old today. Daddy can hardly believe it- it seems like just yesterday I was a little, scared pup from rescue with a scruffy coat. Now I've got a silky coat, am much bigger, but never too big to sit on my dad's lap!

Rough Puppyhood

Whenver my mom takes me to the park, I see it as my job to guard her from anything, especially anyone that seems threatening- and in my opinion that is EVERYONE, especially if they are tall, male, wearing a hat, and running. Whenever I see one of those intruders, I run up to them, crouch down, and bark as loudly as I can. I've never tried to bite anyone, but mom is really worried about my doing that one day. My mom takes me, Emma, Oliver, and sometimes Rupert, to an off-leash park. Now, she puts me on the leash unless she knows we are in an isolated area. It's ok, but I need a lot of exercise because I am an aussie border mix.

First Groom

Yesterday, I went to get groomed for the first time! My mommy has been my groomer until now. But she decided that I have made so much progress in the last year and a half that I was ready to go to the groomers. I was a little scared when she dropped me off, but I did not make a fuss when the groomer lady took my leash. I even let her pet me! The groomer lady bathed me, gave me a pedicure and a manicure. I think she thought I was cute, because she squeezed my butt! My long, luxurious fur got brushed out and they even put ribbons in my hair! I was really excited when mom and grandma picked me up. They told me how beautiful I looked and how proud they are that I was so brave!
