My 1st Christmas With My Family

Ok, so here's what happened on that day my daddy calls the best day of the year. Everyone was opening these boxes with brightly colored paper wrapped around them. It was all really cool to see. At that time, I didn't know why they were all doing it. Me... I was just hangin' out, watching my family have a good time. When I tought they were having a little too much fun and not giving me the attention I deserve, I would walk up to them and intentionally interfere with what they were doing. I would walk on all the brightly colored paper that was on the floor. I would chew on it a little; just long enough for someone to see me and tell me to stop doing it. That was pretty much all I needed. I just wanted them to notice me! While I was casually having breakfast, I heard my daddy call for me: "Phoebe... where are you? We have something for you." Upon hearing that, I swallowed my food and galloped over to where my daddy was and sat down at his feet. All of a sudden, my daddy reaches over on the side of his big chair and picks up this big ol' thing with brightly covered paper. Coincidentally, I started smelling the smell of my favorite kind of bone. Not sure where it was coming from. Oh well, back to my story. My daddy said: "Here sweety, this is for you, because we love you." I already knew that, but it's always makes me feel special when my daddy says that to me. With that, I sniffed the paper and, believe it or not, it smelled like my favorite kind of bone. My daddy started to help me unwrap this thing and guess what... it was my favorite kind of bone. Only this one was really, really big! My daddy told me that it was a present for me from all of them. It was at that moment I realized what Christmas was all about. It made me feel like the bestest doggie in the world. It's really cool when your family loves you as much as you love them. I can't wait till next Christmas!

It's Almost Christmas!

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in my diary for so long now. I have been real busy protecting my family. That's one of my main jobs around here. I love my human daddy, mommy and sissy so much, I don't know how I could survive without them. That's why I give a good 'sniffing over' to all the people that come into my house. The other thing that I'm really good at is looking and acting cute! Mt family kisses me all the time and that's got to be the reason. Anyway, I'm really excited about spending Christmas with my family. This will be my first Christmas with them. I'm a little over a year old and I'm curious about this whole 'Christmas' thing. From what I've read on the internet, Christmas is about spending time with your family and letting them know just how much you love them. I can't think of anything cooler than that! I'm exceptionally good at spending time with my family and letting them love on me. Daddy keeps telling me that he's got some surprises for me on Christmas day. I hope he gets me a really big bone. That would be the coolest thing! Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes. I can hardly wait. WOOF !

Vacation

Man am I tired! One night, my daddy came home from someplace called an airport and he had these people with him I had never, ever seen before in my entire 9 months of puppy hood. When daddy got home with these 'people', he explained to me that they were members of his family. 'Family... what's that?' I barked. He told me that family are people that have at least 1 parent the same. I said: 'You mean like me, you, mommy and sister?' He said: yea... that's right Phoebe kid.' I then asked him if I had to like them and he said that I didn't have to but he hoped I did. He said as long as I loved him, it was all good. I was cool with that. So I began to sniff all of them. They didn't like it too much but I thought, 'you're on my turf', you play by my rules!' My daddy tells me I'm a Princess and I believe him! Woof Woof! After sniffing and checking them out awhile, I gave my approval ( I couldn't help myself, I'm a Keeshond and just love my family) and licked them all in the knee cap as I had given each of them my approval. While they were here, I didn't see my daddy as much as I wanted too. They all said I was cute but I was kinda happy when they went home because I got my daddy back all to myself.
