We had been living in apartment for 10 years and didn't want a dog there. We finally got a house and I wanted a dog bad. I went to the dog shelter. I wasn't happy with any of them but was going to get a blue healer named Ivy. They wouldn't let us have her cuz we didn't have our cats shots. They were indoor cat why did they have to have them? Any way the very next day we got Tia. We answered an ad. So it work out for the best. I was dissappointed leaving the shelter with a dog. But It was all part of God's plan.
Tia needs friends please ask me. Our tiny little Tia Fawn is the best, sweetest, cutest, and smartest dog my husband or I has ever owned. She is our 5 lb., 2 year old Deer Chihuahua. My husband and I are both disabled and he's in a wheelchair. Tia adapts so well to our limitations. She can't jump up into his lap so they work together to get her there. He will reach down and grab hold of her collar and pulls as she climbs up is legs. It looks like it might hurt her but I don't think it does or she wouldn't want up there. She always waits to be sure he has a hold of her toys before playing tug of war. She is very intuitive. She seems to know how we feel. She knows if something is wrong or when we are sad. When we talk to her she stands there turning her head trying so hard to figure out what we are saying. She knows words like "sit", "stay" , "off" , "down", "shake", "wait", "bed", "come" , "no" and "potty". She obeys them when she chooses which is most the time. We can take her in the front yard with out her running off or getting in the street. She always come when she is called outside. She has to be caged when we leave because she has a small bladder. She will reluctantly get in her cage when you tell her to. She loves meat and cheese but doesn't enjoy dog treats. She jumps, yelps and does tricks to get your attention until we share with her. There are two cats (Callie Patches and Cyber Link) that were here before her that she tolerates, but lets them know she's boss especially when food is around. She even plays with them occasionally. When any company comes she gets upset and barks to warn us, as she does with any strange noise, but usually warms up to them if they are kind and gentle with her. She hates when other dogs visit or she visits other dogs barely tolerating them. She loves to play with stuffed animals most but also enjoys small balls too. She loves to chew on steak bones and cow hooves. She also really enjoyed a small, hollow, bouncy, orange and green spiky toy which was sadly lost and can't find another. She plays tug-a-war and play fights with us. She is fully potted trained but has a few accidents sometimes because she has such a small bladder. She sleeps with hubby and I under the cover and snuggles beside one of us. During the the day she sleeps in her bed or our laps, nowhere else. I call her "Bullet" when she runs to greet me and jumps with her front paws ramming hard into my leg. She has her pedigree and has graduated from a basic dog training class at PetSmart. She almost never gets into trouble. She's our spoiled sweet baby (we have no children yet). She makes us laugh all the time and is great company. We thank God for her everyday.
