Arrival Story:
I am fostering Maddie through Tennessee Valley Cattle Dog Rescue. Maddie was the victim of severe neglect and abuse. Maddie was found chained in a back yard next to another heeler that had starved to death. Maddie was very malnurished and was transported to an vet for hospital care. She then went to a shelter in Murfreesboro, Tn, where she was rescued by TVCDR. I chose to foster Maddie after meeting her and seeing how wonderful she is.

Maddie is easy to fall in love with. She is very sweet and loving. She loves to snuggle on the couch with us and give kisses. She gets along great with the other dogs and has been caught giving kisses to the three-year-old neighbor boy when he comes to visit. She is quiet and calm and wants only to make up for all of the lost love that she missed out on. She is looking for a good forever home that will treat her like she deserves to be treated.

Forums Motto:
Just one more kiss, please!

My story in a nutshell...

I have a long, sad story. But luckily, it has a happy ending. A year or so ago, my name was Afena. I was chained in a backyard with another cattle dog named Baby. My owners didn't like us for some reason, because they decided not to feed us. Day after day we would lay on our chain and were so very hungry. We could knew that there was a boxer in the house that the people liked. He got to eat. He got to stay in the house. Not us. Help did not come until Baby died from starvation. The neighbors complained of a smell and the police investigated. The smell was Baby. My owners were arrested and taken away. I went to a vet who fixed me up and fed me. From there I went to a shelter until my owners were procecuted. Then, I went to Tennessee Valley Cattle Dog Rescue in Chattanooga. It was there that I got a new name. I was told that I was going to get a new life, too. My foster family came and picked me out out of all of the other dogs there. I have been living with them since March. They are very nice and feed me every day. I get to stay in the house and get all kinds of attention now. Today my foster mom told me that I have been adopted. I am going to live with a very nice lady in Alabama. She is very excited to get me. I am so glad that I saved some kisses for her!
