"Hi Friends! Welcome to my page! Sit! Stay! Enjoy!"
"Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a litttle worn around the edges, but they fit well.

Arrival Story: I saw an ad in the newspaper for an adoption event planned by Second Chance Pets at a local pet store. I convinced my ex that getting another dog would be great for Bandit and the new dog may be able to sense when Bandit was going to have a seizure. Yes, I know it is a stretch but I wanted a puppy and it worked. (I got that story after watching Animal Planet. They had a story about a dog that sensed it sisters seizures before they happened)
I looked at a cute litter of puppies, there were 5 males & 1 female. I have always had females so I choose Sadie, who at the time was named Scruffy. She was very laid back. Of course as soon as I got her home I realized she was very sick-worms. After vet treatment and a clean bill of health, Sadie and Bandit were introduced and were the very best friends from moment one. Bandit took on a Mother role and treated Sadie like her pup. It was the greatest friendship I have ever witness between 2 dogs.
Bio: I know I am extremely blessed to have Sadie Boo in my life. She is starting to slow down due to old age and has not had much of an appetite since Stormy went to the bridge. Getting Sadie Boo to eat is a struggle everyday. Sadie Boo still gets her nightly zoomies with Sophie Bean. She does not run like she used to, she has slowed down a lot going up and down the stairs, but she still has the strongest bark ever. Sadie loves snuggling up in a pile of pillows on the couch and ear rubs make her whole day delightful.

Every year about this time my thoughts go back to a dog named Zuma. Zuma was a Shepard Cow mix. My Mommy used to pet-sit for her 5 days a week. Sometimes Stormy & I got to go with Mommy so we could play with Zuma. Zuma was adorable, very intelligent and so much fun.
One day, a week before July 4th, Zuma and her Mommy made their daily walk to the mailbox. Zuma never wore a leash on these walks as she never left her Mommy’s side. On this day behind the bushes that divide their house from the neighbors were 2 little boys. The 2 little boys thought it would be funny to scare Zuma’s Mommy by lighting a pack of firecrackers. When the firecrackers went off Zuma got scared and bolted down the street and right into major traffic. Zuma’s mommy yelled for her to come back, but Zuma was so scared and with the firecrackers continuing to go off, Zuma never heard her. Zuma’s Mommy watched as her fur baby was hit several times and then lay lifeless. It was a tragic event that happened several years ago, yet it still brings tears to my mommy’s eyes.
Lesson learned…
#1, Do not let your children have fireworks, let alone unsupervised. What were the parents of these boys thinking??? They were only 6 years old!!!!Shame on them!!!
#2. Even the most obedient dog will run off when scared. Please keep your dogs and cats inside during this holiday unless you can keep them contained and supervise them.
Have a happy 4th of July, but remember to use common sense and safety.
Life is good again, the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, the ducks are quacking, the sun is shining and the bunnies are hopping. We got our Dogster Plus Subscription back! Our friends Biscotte, Crouton & Tippy surprised us with a one year subscription to the Plus.
Now I feel really bad that I got so angry that Mommy let our Dogster Plus lapse that I peed on the carpet last night…not just peed, more like flooded the carpet and Daddy stepped in it on his way to bed. Oopsie, but once you have the plus you can't go back and you must get your point across when you are angered!
THANK YOU SO MUCH Biscotte, Crouton & Tippy for being so pawsome! I have no idea what we did to deserve such a wonderful surprise.
*Gasp* I can’t believe it! I am very disappointed in Mommy. Mommy let our Dogster Plus subscription slip away. Once you have lived with the PLUS you can’t go back! There are ads on my page, no captions on my pictures…and where did my photo album go? *Sadie Boo shakes her head in disappointment* Mommy says we might have to wait two weeks to get the Plus back! That is like a month in a half in dog time. Bad Mommy! Some things I can forgive…forgetting to give me a treat here and there….trips to the vets…even nail trimming or walking Sophie Bean and leaving me home alone…but this…unforgivable!
