Arrival Story:
After we lost our beloved family dog, Max, in February of 2003, I swore I would never have another dog - it was too painful to lose them. Yet, after a couple of months, I started hounding Aaron to get a dog - and we searched petfinder.com for rescue dogs for months. When we saw Cachemire's pretty picture we knew we had to go meet her. When we met Cachemire she was in such sad shape - really bad demodex, bleeding all over her neck and feet, but so happy and loveable. Aaron said he didn't think we could handle all of her medical needs, and we should look elsewhere for a different dog - for 2 hours I cried and cried, I just knew she had to be ours. She was the exact same color as Max, our weimereiner, and had the same sweet temperment - I knew he had sent her to us. Finally we decided we'd take her home and see how it went. After picking her up (near Seattle) and driving home (to Portland) we had blood all over our shirt sleeves, my car - everything - from her little bleeding neck. But once we had her in our hearts, we knew she would be ours forever.

Bio:
Cachemire was/is a gorgeous Neo - We aren't sure of her exact birthdate, but in one file we found it said July 10, 2000 - She was rescued from a suspected neglectful / abusive home, but never harbored any resentment. She was loving and sweet - LOVED children and all people - loved other dogs and small animals - even my rabbit and my mom's cat. Sadly, Cachemire was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in March of 2005 and within 1 week of her diagnosis had to be put to rest - she got very sick very quickly, and we could not bear to watch her suffer after having such a hard life already. She was such a beautiful, wonderful loving girl - She will live in our hearts for eternity. You are welcome to visit her rainbow bridge residency at http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/resi dents/Cache001/resident.HTM We will never find a more loving, beautiful and affectionate baby than our girl Cachemire. :)
