Arrival Story: I work at the local Animal Shelter and this Pittbull Momma and her Pup were brought into us. They were never claimed and went through behaviour assesment. Momma was not a nice dog and went on her own way while we kept the Pup. I felt so bad when she was seperated from her Momma that I began to spend more and more time with her. It soon became obvious that this Pup was deaf. They decieded to put the Pup up for adoption and I had the honor of naming her. Veronica (yes, after Betty and Veronica) was a hit with families and what not. But everyone would decied against her when they found out she was deaf. She even had an adopter coming to pick her up, and at the last minute they decieded against it. I offered to foster her for a short time to try and teach her some sign language. I brought her home for a one night trial stay. She slept next to me on the bed, cuddling the entire night. When I took her back to the shelter the next day, I knew this dog would be coming home, and coming home for good.
She came home the next week as my "foster dog." That was back in November 2004. She is now officially my dog.
