Arrival Story:
Amelia came into my life on July 25, 2001. She was adopted from the Toronto Humane Society, a hunting/breeding dog no longer wanted. She was featured on Breakfast Television. My mom who had been watching the show told me about her, a ten year old Pointer who looked just like my ten year old Pointer Julia. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Julia had been rescued too, eight years ago and I never thought about introducing another dog into our household. Would Julia even accept another dog at this stage? Still, I kept thinking about the Pointer (named Nancy) on BT & wondered if she was still looking for a home. Two weeks went by & I finally decided to contact the Toronto Humane Society. Amelia as she was named now was in foster care & still looking for a home. My husband,Rob, Julia & I arranged to meet with Amelia. We decided the decision would be up to Julia, whether she accepted her. The meeting went fantastically well & the following week we adopted Amelia. For the next three and a half years, the girls were inseperable & were know affectionately as "The Pointer Sisters".

Bio:
Sadly, Amelia's health began failing & on March 15, 2005, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. We miss her very much. I will always smile when I think of her silly, endearing ways and the love she gave us for the past 3 1/2 years
