Our precious wise old man Ozzie has joined his brudder Vinny

Tonight we walked in the house and found him in the entryway pass away. Vinny must have wanted him. Now our hearts are broken all over again. We will miss our wise old man. We were afraid we were going to have to make the hard decision to put him to sleep this week but he did it for us. We love you Ozzie with all our hearts. You were a great dog and will be missed so very much. Rest in peace my precious dog.

Vinny

Today we continue our life without our precious Vinny. The last four days have been tough for the little guy. No matter what we did, IV fluids in his back, pain medication, he wasn't getting better. Yesterday morning I woke up to find his bodily functions were no longer working. I knew then we had to help him to the bridge. It was the hardest decision we ever had to make but I know it was the right one.

Joe and I were there at the end with him. Joe was expecting him to jump up and down and want to go home like he always did. This time he was brought to us in a towel. He took turns looking at us as we loved him up.

I know Sweetie and all the pups that have passed were there waiting for him at the bridge. He is pain free and chasing squirrels and I'm sure he has a new den ob sin.

Even though he's been ill since 2006 we never felt he was burden. We gladly did whatever we had to do to keep him well and comfortable. He will be missed so very much.

Thank you all for the rosettes, gifts, kind words and prayers. You all are helping us during this awful time to make it a little bit easier to bare.

1. I wake up my mudder at 3:00 a.m. to put me on the bed!
2. I lifted my leg and peed in the hallway just because I wanted to.
3. I refused to eat my dog food unless I get a treat first.
4. I shed all over my mudder's black pants.
5. I sniff poo I found outside on my walk and would ignore my mudder when she called me away.

My Progess Report

My mudder gave me a shot this morning and it went smooth without a hitch. She didn’t have any problems this time like yesterday. Mudder is giving me my shot while I eat my breakfast and I never know she did it. It doesn’t even hurt.

I am keeping my paws crossed that the vet will keep me at one injection a day. I hear that other pups are having two injections a day. Wednesday dad will take me back to the vet to spend the day so they can check my levels and adjust the insulin.

I have cataracts now because of the diabetes. The vet said they will only get worse. Mudder heard that dogs can now have cataract surgery. Maybe look into that if they get any worse and if she has any money. Too bad I don’t have any money in my man purse to give mudder.

Mudder found out that min pin’s, dachshunds, keeshonds, miniature schnauzers, cairn terriers and beagle breeds are at higher risk for this diabetes.

Crashing the Basenji Party

I have to fess up. Over the weekend I was invited to a party. However it was a Basenji party not a min pin party. No one told me. I was the only Min Pin there among all these dudes and babes. I was the only short brown dog among all these Basenjis. They treated me pretty good I have to admit. They probably couldn't figure out what the heck I was. A rat, squirrel, small pig? Talker got a little sick of me after awhile. But I have to forgive him because he'll get me on Paradise island. Just kidding dude, if your reading this. Thats all for now.
