Any toy that another dog is playing with; she also thinks playing with her foster dane sisters and brothers are loads of fun

Any food that another dog is eating, especially any morsels dropped on the floor

Any walk that let's her lead the pack, any walk in which she can drag her humans on

Kissing a mile a minute--she's the House Champion Kisser and Under-da-Blankie Snuggler
Arrival Story:
Mommy did NOT want a lapsized puntable object. She wanted another big strapping pup like Dill. She decided that she was NOT going to wait for another pup to find her. One day, a friend came over to visit with his new Doxie puppy, and Mommy thought he was precious. She decided right there and then that she wasn't going to get a Doxie puppy--not! LOL. She looked in the paper but all the breeders in there were NOT very nice people, they all sounded mean and money-grubbing. She contacted rescues and filled out applications, but nobody ever called her back. For awhile, she thought she changed her mind and wanted another Dane pup, but finally she got a hold of a nice breeder out in Van Alstyne who had a small litter of dapple babies. Even though Mommy was resolute in getting ONE of the boy puppies, somehow she ended up bringing home a GIRL puppy. Dandy officially became the second Pirkle Pup on March 19, 2004.
Bio:
Dandy moved right in and stole all of our hearts. Even Dill who normally wants nothing to do with other dogs found her irresistible and entertained her. The Pirkle mom knew that Dandy was going to be a big dog in a small dog's body, so she made sure that she started training her from the first day. From stairs to beds to ramps and ledges, Dandy is a fearless and adventurous agility pup in-the-making. She is the Pirkle Pup welcome wagon, making sure to entertain new foster pups at least 5 times her size. Her first day in school was an Advanced Class for Pups at Petsmart, and when she graduated, Pirkle Mom was PROUD! Dandy wants to be an AKC Canine Good Citizen so she is studying hard right now to take the test.

In October of 2009, Dandy lost complete mobility due to a disc herniation, a life-threatening condition that required immediate surgery. She suffered IVDD, intervertebral disk disease, commonly known to afflict the dachshund breed. Thanks to the crew at the Center for Veterinary Specialty Care in Carrollton, Dandy escaped death (or sure paralysis) and got back on the road to recovery, eventually regaining mobility in her back legs. While she is not as graceful as she was in her youth, Dandy celebrates her 6th birthday this week (January 27th to be exact), oblivious of her narrow brush with death and behaving as if the world owes her a buffet.
