Arrival Story:
Chubbs was born here at our home on October 19th 2003. We aquired his mother from a friend who wanted us to take care of their dog while they moved. After they were settled into their new place they would come back for her. Unknown to them and us their dog was pregnant. she gave birth to ten pups, nine yellow and one brown. She was an unruley but playful dog. You could tell that not much time was spent on her. She was an ok mother but could have done better with her pups. Her owners didn't come around much as promised with food for her because we were only watching her for a short time and not assuming ownership plus we already had a few other dogs and feeding all of them was expensive. As the pups started to grow they the owners came to see them, we chose to keep the nicest one as one would and that didn't go well with them, they wanted the pick of the litter. After bringing only five pounds of food for their dog in the five months that we had the dog we thought it appropriate that we keep the nicest pup. They wanted to start with a new pup and let their dog remain with us. That was out of the question, they wanted the pick or nothing and thats what they got nothing. It was a shame it turned out that way but it did and thats how we aquired Chubbs. We eventually found a home for the mother. the pups went quickley. We didn't charge anything for them since they were not pure, they all went to good homes and hope they bring many years of joy to their new owners. Chubbs was with us for a year but will be remember for the rest of our lives. It's funny how attached one can become with a dog and how much it affects your life when they pass away.
