CHARLIE: the life of Riley

WITH REGRET

I will leave this post here for a while so that some of his friends can see it.
Charlie left us on October 5th, 2011, from ill health. He contracted a liver disease, and his other organs began to fail after that. He wasn't happy, but Charlie was in no pain when he went to heaven, gracefully. Charlie lived like a King, and he never had a bad day in his life until the last 3 weeks.
He saved us from dying in a fire when he was a very tiny puppy, and thusly earned his position of alpha in the family. His wish was our command. No animal was ever loved as much as Charlie.
I believe he was the only Sealyham living in Louisiana, and therefore leaves this State lacking in the reputation of all Sealyhams' personality and style. Hopefully, one day, someone in LA will be up to the Sealyham standards and come to this State soon.
As difficult as anything imaginable, I now say good-bye for Charlie: Seaberdale of Charlemagne.

To a GREAT dog

To all who knew Charlie and to the more than 10,000 people who visited this page, I grieve immensely as I tell you that he will die in just a few days. His organs are failing and he has quit eating{animals just know they are going to heaven soon and hasten it by not eating}.
I know that you can empathize with us on how we feel, as all here are avid dog lovers and know that Charlie was an integral part of our family. It really is like losing a child (almost). Nothing feels worse, and I'll have to endure weeks of sympathy and months of idle conversations with people about dogs, and I will have to try not to burst into tears every time. It will be a long road I've traveled before, and I dread it.
Love to my Charlie who absorbed all of my tears throughout his life, I thank you, my dear sweet puppy dog,
Mom

that cat

The picture of the cat on my page is of "Otis," my human-sister's feline. I'd put him down as a family member, but as a distant cousin, and twisted in Mardi Gras string, well, I just couldn't claim him. He is amusing, though. My human isn't thrilled with his behind on the table, but then I'd be up there too if I could.

ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRE

Well, I just past the anniversary of the night I saved my mom and sister persons from dying in our home fire. They never forget how brave I was, and I get extra hugs on that day. I was so brave that night, but moving paper bags still scare me so much. I can't figure out how they move.

I HAD THE BEST TIME BEING DOG OF THE WEEK!
I got tons of mail, and it was all so nice! My persons are hoping all the attention won't go to my head. Heh, heh, heh. I'll use any method at my paws to get more treats and tummy rubs.

I could not have been happier ALL WEEK! Everybody has written to me and I know I will answer every single one of my letters. My persons have been SO proud and happy about this honor, and my sister in college was about to bust when she saw me on her screen {she doesn't always read my mom's e-mail...}. It was a total surprise to her that I was the DOG OF THE WEEK!
Yeah, I know others have had this honor, and others will after me, but for now, I am King of the Hill and LOVING it!
Thanks to everyone.
Love,
Charlie
