My friend Cappone tagged me and now I'm it...I choose 7 pals to tag and they do the same.

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Here are 7 interesting facts about me--Scrappy:

1. I always spin in circles (before peeing, pooing, or lying down).

2. I only spin to the left.

3. I am a stomach on legs--I can always eat more.

4. I pretend I don't like my brother Trevor, but he's fun to play with at times.

5. I'm very indepedent and somewhat moody (kind of like a cat:)

6. I am very well behaved in car rides.

7. I often crawl under furnature to create a doggy den.

I'm tagging: Georgie, Cashew, Logan, Bobby, Oscar, Weeman, and Zoe

My Scrappy Anniversary!

Five years ago today, I found my furever home. Mom says it's really her special day...but I'm still getting all the treats and attention! I've already been on two walks today and should get one more. I also got some delicious treats. Mom went to Three Dog Bakery and got me a personalized bone. She also got pupcakes and Dreamly Drool Bars. Then, the owner, who also rescued a dog with heartworm, sent home three extra treats for me! Wow! The frig is full of treat, just for me! Well, Trevor gets some too...but I got to share his birthday cake so it's only fair.

I can't believe it's been five years...mom thought it was only four at first, but we've really been together for that long. That also means I'm older than we are acknowledging. My true age is a secret, but I might be close to nine years old! Anyhow, now I got to go play tag--hooray!

winning entry

Min Pin Manchester Mania had a My Mommy Loves Me contest for Mother's Day. I was lucky enough to be chosen as the winner for the sweetest entry. In addition to the honor, I also got a Star on my page! Thanks MPMM...

Here's my entry:

My mother loves me so much. My dad always jokes that he didn’t find me, I found them. The stars aligned because my mom never wanted a dog. In fact, she didn’t really understand dogs or dog people . She is allergic, so she never realized the joy dogs can bring. When I came home with dad, my mom said “No way! We cannot have a dog!” They borrowed some food from a neighbor and made me a bed outside on the porch (she didn’t want me in the house , but I did have worms. She seemed firm in her decision, but agreed to take care of the situation. The next day, she called in to work and took the day off. Then, she started calling shelters, lost dog registries, and placed an ad in the paper.

She decided to let me in the house…I was so sad and scare and terrified. All the hair on my ears was worn off. I cowered if anybody came close to me…except my mom. She just sat on the floor and let me come to her. I realized it was safe and I never wanted to leave. Mom decided if she had a dog in her house, she had to make sure I didn’t have fleas and worms. She took me on my first of countless trips to the vet.

You see, I also had heartworm! I needed to be fixed, and I had a hernia. I’ve been through so much. It took two years of treatment to rid me of the heartworm. My mom realized that I had been severely mistreated. She didn’t know much about dogs, but felt the fear and mistrust was not normal. I hid and ran from my dad for almost 3 years! Things are better now, but I’m still completely a mama’s girl. I melted her heart and she’s won my love completely. Maybe it’s the unconditional love and acceptance, the silly songs she sings, the treats she gives (or makes), or the endless supply of blankets given to me to snuggle up in….what ever it is, it’s clear that my mom love me so much!

When mom opened her e-mail this morning, she knew something was going on because she had 24 new messages. Then, she saw that most were from Dogster. Well, our favorite group on this site, Min Pin Manchester Mania, celebrates Rosetta Wednesdays. That's when one lucky member is honored. She had checked yesterday to see which dog was selected, but the decision wasn't posted when she logged off for the day. As soon as she saw all those messages, she got sooooo excited.....

Yes! It was me! I was chosen! I've been honored by all my pals and now my page is beauteous! I am so lucky--yes, I'm a lucky dog. Thank you MPMM and all the terrific members! This might be my best day on Dogster ever!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Love,
Scrappy

stinky roll

I found the most delectable, delicious, wonderful stink in the back yard yesterday! It was totally enticing and memorizing! I spent a good 10 minutes wiggling and rolling in it.

Mom told me to stop...she threatened a bath...but then, she couldn't resist my cuteness. The joy and vigor I gave each roll...the sight of my belly, pale in the sun, worming around in the grass, was too much for her. She just got out her camera and tried to enjoy the moment with me.

As magical a spot I found, Trevor (my big brother) tried to ruin it for me. Once I was done, he got in there and tried to soak up my smell.

Personalized Alarm Clock

Today, mom did not want to get out of bed. Around 5:30, the music came on in the bedroom...which is normally my sign that she will be up soon. I went to her bedroom door and waited. No, I wasn't patient. I barked and ran in circles. I even got Trevor involved...he can sometimes open doors. He gave it his best shot, but we were trapped outside the bedroom. Instead of getting up, mom just turned off the music. Every nine minutes, it would return. I'd get quiet to see if I heard movement. When the bedroom returned to silence, I returned to being her personal alarm clock. She must have re-set the radio, because it was quiet for a good 30 minutes. I tried my best to get her up before 7 (I wanted food and she had talked about going to the gym). For something so samll, I can be very noisy! Well, it didn't work. But, maybe she'll think twice before sleeping in later....I made sure it wasn't restful!

Sweet and petite,
always ready to eat.
Running in circles
on four tiny feet.

I bark when I'm hunger, I bark when I'm mad,
You need to remember that barking aint bad!

What my brother has taught me...

Having a big brother isn't all bad, despite his constant need for attention and for whatever I have. I have learned a thing or two by watching him over the past year. First, I know that if that bathroom door isn't all way closed, I can open it. I have also come to realize that if mom is on the toilet, I'm not getting a bath. Thus, it save to go and seek attention and love. I have also rediscovered that I can get onto the couch without a lift--if I really apply myself or use a pillow.

Having a brother has helped me in many ways...it's a slow process, but I'm steadly become less neurotic. Sometimes, I'll even go outside for my dad now. I figure, if Trevor can do it, so can I. After all, I have to remain my position as top dog!

All I want for Christmas...

Mom's been trying to get a cute picture of my brother, Trevor, for the holiday stroll. I'm already in there, with a cute picture of me resting under a Santa hat. Well, that calmness was captured last year, before Trevor came into the picture. Let me explain…

I used to have tons of stuffed animals...a smurf, a frog, a rescue-worker dog, a giraffe, a mouse, or get the picture! I loved to play with them, but despite my toughness, I wasn't too hard on the animals. Sure, mom had to sew up a seam every now or then, but the animals were salvageable. Since Trevor came, all my old friends have been destroyed. Mom managed to hide one or two away, but I only get to play when Trevor's out of the house. It's just not the same without them!

Well, I made my need for something plush very clear to my mom when she tried Trevor's photo shoot. See, when I saw the big, fuzzy white ball of Santa's hat, I attacked and wouldn't let go. At first, I caught mom off guard and took the hat to my crate. After she retrieved it, I went at it again. I almost won. But, mom put the hat up and now Trevor has no holiday picture. Hopefully, Santa will get my message about the much needed return of plush to this house.

Exciting News...

I got two, count-them, two Rosettas yesterday! Mom thinks it was a mistake and Rocky accidentally submitted it twice. But, he looks just like me and even has the same collar. We are kindred spirits, I'm sure of it! Now, I have four rosettas total and I feel sooo special.

Then, mom came home late last night, but she had gone to Three Dog Bakery for special treats. Trevor and I split a piece of their carrot cake for dessert. I saw at least two more things in her bag, so I'm sure that we can expect something special tonight. Hooray!

Finally, I got up on the couch today all by myself! I used a pillow on the ground and hopped right on up (mom was ignoring my requests for a bite of her cereal, which motivated me). She was so impressed, I got a slice of banana. I guess that's all my excitement for the day....can't wait for dessert tonight....yummm.
