Arrival Story:
We were again ready to bring a wonderful pound puppy to our home. We went to the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society regularly, and Lucy first called to our oldest daughter. We kept coming back to her kennel, and grew attached. Lucy was the last of a litter of 11 that had been picked up by animal control. She was a little timid at first, being out of her kennel, but responded well to us. She came home and quickly adapted to the crate routine. Although we still have occassional behavior concerns, she is a loving, silly girl.

Bio:
A contact at www.badrap.org (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls) has been very helpful about suggestions on how to remind Lucy that everyone in the house (cats too) are more alpha than she is. Sadly, as she moved from adolescence to adulthood, she became more agressive with strangers. We had to put her down6/17/05. It was a horrible decision to have to make, but we know that it was the correct one. Our beloved dogs Houdini and Cindy met her as she crossed the rainbow bridge.
