Arrival Story:
My ex's family brought Tyson home as a birthday present for my BF. They are Russian and didn't understand the concept that a dog should not be kept outside ;) Eventually, Tyson would start coming over and eventually, he just became my dog. The ex and I broke up in 2006 and knew better than to even ask about Tyson :)

Bio:
Tyson is a two-time cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in 2009 and skin cancer in 2011. Thanks to a settlement I received from a car accident, treating him with radiation and chemo was done without the blink of an eye. They say all things happen for a reason and I truly believe that car accident happened so I would have the means to help my baby. On June 5, 2013, we had a CT Scan and a June 14, 2013 we had a surgical biopsy. I received the results today, June 20, 2013. Tyson does in fact have Thyroid cancer. Cancer for the third time. I cannot believe this is happening to him again. Surgery is set for June 28, 2013. Both of his thyroid glands will be removed. The Oncologist did say this is the earliest they have EVER diagnosed thyroid cancer and may in fact be the earliest diagnosis in the history of this type of cancer. He will have to be on regulatory meds for the remainder of his life. Frequent checks of his blood and lung x-rays. We were originally told he would not need chemo or radiation but due the fact that the thyroid glands doubled in size in the two weeks between the biopsy and having them removed, they dr's felt there was vascular intrusion and felt 6 rounds of chemo would be in his best interest. His first round of chemo was today, July 15, 2013.
